... so, can anyone give me a history lesson? [He's dabbing at his eyes with the back of his armwarmer -- they're kind of watery. But he's gone on the expedition again, so he can't exactly complain about this right now.]

... why does this virus exist in the first place? It's artificial, right?

That is correct. Which means, at some point, it was manufactured by someone for a purpose. Strange, wouldn't you agree?

strange? no.

it just means that in that case, this world had enemies. manufacturing something like this... it wasn't an experiment, was it?

Surely everything is an experiment at some stage? However, I can assure you Sphere has never had any intention of killing people off -- if that is what you are asking. Certainly not ourselves.

aren't you supposed to be a scientist, dr ingram?

i would hope you, of all people, would have a little more information than the average person.

I am more of what you might call a manager in this facility. I try to focus what time I have into helping us cure people of this... sickness, not question the intentions of its creator.

i'm surprised you don't get this question more often. wouldn't its origins point us in the general direction of an idea for a cure?

In truth, not particularly. You see, its very nature changes from person to person. It mutates, adjusts, finds a weakness. I suspect any current case is very different to the pure, original state. In fact, I can assure you it would be. I find most people are not interested in history, they are interested in the future -- and when they may return home.

of course i'm interested in the future.

but i can't let an opening slip by me, either, no matter how irrelevant. i need to see this through and fix things. sora can't wait forever.
