[he had gone there, to the courtyard, upon the request on the NEXUS. but once he heard the music and saw the group of people flocking towards the courtyard and lingering there, kanda had a change of mind. what was he doing, following a random someone's instructions? tch, he was getting soft. he was even starting to regret stepping out of his room for the occasion-and then remembered it was not much of a safety haven if he wanted to be alone and undisturbed for the rest of the day.
having "friends" was dreadfully annoying. having no missions, no battles and no purpose was just as bad. he would dwindle around the place, like a ghost of sorts, without any actual reason as to his doings. he even disliked the white halls; with no scratches and no show of deformation of any sort-a metallic kind of cold, composed for perfection. it reminded him of corridors, which albeit destroyed a long time ago, were the keepers of a horrifying secret.
it is in a part of the hallway far from the courtyard and hopefully from any stray path anyone might take to get there where kanda takes confidence enough to lean against the wall. with arms crossed, sword hanging at his side, and head lowered, he tries to blend in against the perfectly white structure. (after a while, the increasing number of lotus flowers in his vision became more relaxing than worrying.) still as a stone, it takes a moment of desired silence to let him drift beyond a meditative state into light sleep.]
