[ When Denzel first heard the voice post, he immediately became confused. He had the assumption that Mello already had a roommate, so why was he looking for another one?

.. And then he caught on. ]

M- Mello! I could have done this.. Y- you didn't have to.

[Bit of humor creeping into his voice.]

B- But still..

[ Is quiet for a moment. He's actually pretty grateful for this. ] Thanks, though. Did you find anyone yet? [ Feeling a little nervous. ]

A girl, but her guard dog came along and barked at me until I went away. There's another girl, and she's already living next door.

Want to keep your room, or move one over?

[ Guard dog? He decides not to ask. ]

Well, I guess it would be okay to move over. I'd still be close to you, but I wouldn't completely alone.

Yeah. I'll let her know, and you two can talk it out if you want.

[ Suddenly there's a light 'knock-knock' at your door. ]

[ Hears that 'knock-knock' and automatically thinks it's someone out to get him, and silently freaks out. Then, after mentally preparing himself to see who it really is, he grips the handle and opens the door.

Once he sees the innocent looking girl in the hallway, he lets out a large gulp of breath he wasn't aware he was holding. His eyes look anywhere but at hers, and after a moment of awkward silence, he speaks in a nervous kind of voice. ]

Um.. hello.

Oh-- hello there..!

[ Well, his nervousness is as clear as day, no denying that. She backs up a step to give the poor boy some space and even gives him a hopefully reassuring smile, even though he's clearly avoiding her gaze. She can't help but silently wonder to herself if something's happened to him. ]

--Um! Someone told me you needed a roommate! And I happened to be right across from you, 2A-178!

... I'm Rhyme, I'm sorry if I startled you.

Oh, no, you didn't.. startle me. [ She totally startled him. Decides he should make eye-contact now. ]

Mello mentioned you, but not your name. It's nice to meet you, Rhyme. M- My name's Denzel. [ Embarrassedly sticks his hand out to shake hers. ]

I am looking for a roommate.

[ O-Oh she totally startled him, and she feels so bad about it, but he seems alright now. So she's gonna go ahead and give him another, much wider smile and lightly shake his hand. ] It's nice to meet you too, Denzel!

I'm sorry that this was so sudden, but-- was Mello his name? Mello mentioned that you were already awake so--

--Oh! Were you already up? I didn't wake you, did I?

[ Shakes a little awkwardly, then stuffs his hand into his pocket when it's over. Can you tell he hasn't had a lot of experience with girls that weren't like sisters to him? ]

No, no, Mello was right! I was awake. Don't worry about that. [ Smiles softly. ]

[ She can't really tell, since she doesn't really get to hang around boys too much besides her brother and one other friend of hers. She's just kind of assuming that's probably how all boys her age are..! ]

Oh, good! [ Sends that smile right back! ]

I'm in a room by myself too. Since we're right next to each other, would you like to move in with me or for me to move in with you? It's fine by me either way, so!

[ Decides this is a perfect time to be a gentleman. He's got to make a good impression. ]

You should decide. If you want to stay in your room, I don't mind moving. Whatever you want to do is just fine. [ Smiles. ]
