[ someone's sounding a bit croaky after several weeks in stasis! neil's pretty out of it-- doesn't know the date, or how long he's been 'asleep', only that it's pretty cold and he doesn't really like the labs all that much. ]

Once my legs start behaving again, I'll do just that.
[ ... about thirty minutes later, guess who appears in their apartment looking quite disoriented with the current state of things. god, it felt like he hadn't walked anywhere in forever. ]
[ ... okay, neil swore that what he just saw couldn't be some sort of hallucinogenic side-effect from being in stasis, but... him? here?
a few moments pass as he stares at his device, purely dumbstruck and wondering whether or not that had been a figment of his imagination. ... only one way to find out, huh? calling back. ]
[ he stares down at the beeping device, sees the name there - and suddenly it's as if he's back in the time where his brother had always tried to reach him, when he willfully ignored him until it all stopped and eventually, it all became too late. he's thought of his brother, a lot more than he lets on. there had been bitterness, but that had been mostly moot - you just don't resent the dead. reminiscing, memories that had not been unpleasant, that he had not allowed himself to think of for ages.
but he doesn't budge, he can't. old habits had always died hard, even now.
even when his finger still hovers above the 'TALK' button. ]
[LAB DUTY FOR THIS MEISTER. it's been more frequent lately, reducing the time he's been able to stay in their room. by the time allelujah's seen this, he's sure tieria has already ... well.]
[ neil doesn't know why, but there's something reassuring about the familiar voices. at least some things hadn't changed while he'd been in stasis and, well... that was a good thing. ]
Yeah... looks like I was down for the count for a bit there. Sorry about that.
[he'd been worried though not as worried as a certain someone, so this is quite the relief. it's with that in mind that he mindfully bypasses any apologies.]
How are you feeling? Being released from stasis isn't really pleasant.

hello, brother. hello, crapload of lifelong issues that has long since evolved into a subscription. how the hell, even.
he fumbles, clumsy, accidentally activating and deactivating the device so that the briefest moment of his own face is captured before it's shut off.
....brother. ]
