[storyline] The End

[Sorry this is a few days late guys, and rather hastily done. I've been much busier than I thought I would be. Next months will be much better, I promise ♥

March.
He’d been awake for months now, nearly a year to the day actually. And he’d been well behaved, for what he was anyways. A little mischief here and a little there. But he was good. And the eldest of the five siblings had been very proud; hopeful even that his little brother had changed this time. He was mistaken. End had one purpose in life and one purpose only. Without that he was nothing and would fade back into the chaos from which he was born.

It was a valiant effort on the other four’s behalf. But it was inevitable. He brought around the end of time.

You could stop any person on the street and ask them what they thought the end would be like. Most would describe the apocalypse, judgment day, Ragnarok. The earth splitting open and all being devoured into hell and never returning. Not one person would guess that the end of time would sneak up on you, quiet as a whisper and sudden as a blow to the head. But that’s how it happened. One moment everything was fine, the next there was nothing. End had done his job and he had done it well. No one could ever guess when he would strike after being woken up. But when he did it was with precision.

With his work done, with time stopped and everything just ceasing to exist, End did as he always did. He went back to sleep.

Now no one can say how long or how short a period of time this went on. Because time is relative to us, but to them it is nothing. The five exist outside time because they are time. So what all creatures need for life, death and all that is in between they have no use for. Maybe 1000 years passed, maybe 2 seconds. But that is just your mind trying to comprehend the concept of time where time doesn’t exist. In truth no time passed. That is the purpose of the End. It was neither a long stretch nor a short stretch it just was. And it was until the eldest of the five found his strengths and gathered his books and made that existence a time once again.

3 months. 3 months that became unusually fuzzy in every living things mind. Like grasping at straws each being knew they had done something in those three months, but what it was could not be imagined. And as with every restarting of time, they shrugged it off and continued on with their lives. Nothing had changed, as far as anyone could tell.

In a way it was like a reset button, a second chance, whatever you wanted to call it. The world was still off kilter and the City was still a cesspool for the chaotic and supernatural. But this time they might be able to keep things balanced.
