It's hard being the little kid.
It's like when you were in middle school and you had friends in high school. And you wanted to hang out with them, and sometimes you were allowed to, but you felt so young and a lot of things they talked about passed right over head. Even though your friend in HS were not that much older than you, even just a year seemed like a lifetime. So much was different. So eventually you gave up trying to talk to your friends in high school. You would talk to them individually, but if anything went to a group, you were out.
Life feels like that a lot.
