(no subject)
Okay. It has been a while since update so I suppose I will go back and recap stuff. Hmmm. About this time last week I was asleep because I had come back from recording very late and although I am in no way very happy with how the vocals turned out on the CD I know they are better than they could have been. I stayed at home Friday night and then spent most of Saturday sorting through my CDs and tidied up my room a lot. It still amazingly looks tidy.
Saturday night I showed up at the Gabba for the show and everyone yelled at me. Just because I put the show on everyone felt the need to yell at me because the doors were shut and bands hadn't started yet. We were also in dire need of a drumkit due to miscommunication on my part. Doing shows sucks. Anyway, a punched window, kicked sign and two phonecalls later things were okay. The show went quite nicely and there was a very decent turnout - I just have a bit of a problem with people sitting down for bands they don't know. I mean, it's not THAT tiring to stand up for half an hour and show a band some respect while they are up there doing their best to entertain. I mean I can't really talk, I didn't watch the bands that much but I felt insulted for Foster Portfolio that nobody was up there watching. When I think about it, though, when we started out I don't think that many people stood up for us. Paying dues huh? Maybe.
Anyway the remainder of my weekend and the beginning of the week was spent studying for an exam on Thursday which I am pretty confident I passed. In fact I would have no common sense if I didn't pass it wasn't that difficult.
Adam is back in Australia. Actually that was the coolest thing about the Saturday night gig that I turned around and there was Adam and Kathryn (who rules) standing there. It's so weird because it's been a year and a half since I have actually seen Adam face to face and not too much has changed. I think we both have grown up a little and maybe who knows - even become ourselves a little more - but when I sit down and talk to him it's just the same as always. We are going to go skating this weekend and I have to show him all the new parks and extensions around. Kendrick says he will come too. I guess we will see. I've heard that too many times before, only to have it not happen.
Tonight I am apparently jamming? with a potential lineup for the new band. Prepare for metal, people. I shouldn't say that though because I could turn around and have some industrial goth or new wave type band on my hands. I don't know how that'll happen but you never know....
