oh my GOD, its almost absurd how perfect FIT is for me.
i'm a nerd and constantly peruse the FITNYC website and there are seriously NO downfalls in anything, except the cost [Associate-level out-of-state residents: $4842.00 / semester, plus another $5000 for room, and then fees. but ehhhhh....]
-my credit for AP Euro will transfer, even though i only got a three [which was a bummer, but i'll live].
-i only have to submit FIVE sketches and photos for my portfolio. So between my reenactment dresses, my prom dress, and my everyday clothes, plus my books and books of sketches, i think i'm set.
-i can apply early admission as soon as November.
-they have an open house in october, which is around when i was hoping to visit anyway.
-they have a 2+2 program, where you get your associate in two years, then your bachelor's, and you can split the years across campuses, which means... drumroll... A YEAR IN FLORENCE IF YOU SO DESIRE!!!
-its fucking on 27th street between 7th and 8th avenues, which is exactly, exactly where i want to be.
-the classes couldnt be more perfect, i take a math/english/science/social studies ONE period a semester and the rest apply to my major, so they're things like Fashion Past and Present, which is essentially what my life, and pattern designing, and ooooh, its good. plus, if i study in florence, they offer a foreign language class instead of english/math so that's fucking cool.
-they offer internships with huge designers, and you get credit for interning, basically jumpstarting your job.
-SAT/ACT SCORE IS NOT REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION, only for placement in classes.
