I say, Go for it! I plan on moving out later this year too, to work for UVA (hopefully within the next couple months).
That sounds like a really cool opportunity, one that will advance you. Also, you can probably take classes/attend grad school for free IF you apply for/get the job. UPENN is an excellent school. And Barone's recommendation will definitely give you leverage.
I have nothing to lose, and if I change my mind because of Trinity or England or this job, then so be it. It was so nice of Barone to send me the application, really.
UPENN is an excellent school, my only qualm is that I wouldn't be able to start until January, at the earliest, and possibly not until Fall of '06.
