1. Outside of 1130 Taylor Road

[In hindsight, Bazett should have known better than to try to make breakfast, especially not with the mushrooms on the counter. Her drone husband had apparently cultivated them in the garden. Although they were purple and white, she had assumed that they were edible. Why else would her drone husband have suggested that ( Read more... )

[Kiritsugu glares back with a look reflecting emotion. In all of the files Bazett could've seen his picture in, not a single one would have granted her anything more than cold, dead eyes, completely unlike the ones filled with hatred he carries now.]

[He now realizes Bazett is not from his world. What's more, he knows precisely where she comes from. The first Ilya he saw in Mayfield... she must have fought this person at one point.]

[Even if she were a normal Enforcer, Kiritsugu would have little chance in a fair fight. He's a magus hunter specializing in catching targets off-guard, which would give an edge in this kind of situation to conventional magi. What's more, if she's anything like Natalia, this Enforcer could very well use her fists as a weapon. Kiritsugu could be dead before he even draws the Calico.]

[Truthfully, he doesn't know why he's considering this. It says something about the situation that, even when he reasons it to be a completely useless emotion, he still feels anger towards Bazett. It seems family life changed him more than he thought.]

['You're still Ilya', he told her... Can he really hold on to those words if he simply lets the magus in front of him be.?]

...

[Yes. Killing Bazett at a time like this would be useless. It would be the beginning of a pointless feud between two magus killers that would reset every morning. But if nothing else, Kiritsugu can craft one clear conclusion in his mind: Bazett Fraga McRemitz cannot be allowed to return to her world.]

[Bazett is taken aback when she notices the hatred in his eyes. Up until now, his eyes have been empty of emotion, somewhat like the eyes of the Cards that she had fought. From this, she can conclude two things. One, he is connected closely to Ilyasviel Von Einzbern. Family, perhaps? Two, he might not be as crazy as she orginally assumed.]

Emiya, as an ex-Enforcer and the man with the title of Magus Killer, you should know better than anyone that an Enforcer cannot allow their emotions to interfere with their mission. It was not my personal wish to fight or injure these girls, but they obstructed my mission. I did try to go easy on them, but they refused to stop resisting me. I was forced to use escalating force on them.

If this is any comfort, I am currently allied with them and their mentors unless Father Kotomine or my other superiors in the Association say otherwise.
