1. Arrival
[Bazett Fraga McRemitz wakes up with a start. Her head is heavy and her body feels strange in a way that she can't put her finger on.]

What happened?

[She's mildly shocked when she sees Tohsaka running up. It turns into annoyance when Tohsaka appears to be displaying the same behavior as many of the other people she has encountered in this town.]

Tohsaka. What are you doing? I have been looking for you. If you can recall, I still have matters to discuss with you.

The Cards, Tohsaka. I want to know if you have a plan yet for dealing with the eighth card. My superior, Father Kotomine instructed me to listen to your plan and Edelfelt's plan and then report back to him. He will then take your plans into consideration and draw up a plan of action for the two of us. Depending on his decision, I may or many not remain allied with the two of you. However, in light of this crisis, I believe he will not order me to enter into conflict with either of you until the Eighth card is subdued.

[The dog is distracting. For one thing, it's too cute. She does her best to stay focused on her mission, but still feels the urge to pay attention, if only a little, to the dog.]

Where is Edelfelt? And where are your three apprentices? Why are you not with them?

Yes. Father Kotomine is my superior. We were sent to retrieve the cards in Fuyuki before you were. I did not mention our relationship previously because I saw no need to. He reassured me that he would make contact with you if it was required. Is there a problem ( ... )

The powers of the Kaleidosticks were wasted on them. While they had been granted infinite prana by the Kaleidosticks, their combat skill were severly lacking. They were too young, too inexperienced. The Einzbern fared the best by far in that she was able to improvise decent strategies on the fly. However, even she proved ineffective against me. Their performance against me does not speak very well of you as a mentor. It is a miracle that they managed to survive, much less secure five of the cards. It was only with your help that they survived their fight against me.

I would advise that you give them further combat training once we make our way back to Fuyuki. They barely survived a fight with me. Imagine what would happen if they fought something worse.

Seeing how they rushed to Edelfelt's aid, they could have been her apprentices as well. I only assumed they were yours because the Einzbern used the Ruby Kaleidostick, which had clearly been assigned to you. Now that I have mentioned it, it is a little strange that the Einzbern and the Edelfelt girls should have been able to use the Kaleidosticks in the first place, seeing how the sticks should have been contracted to only you and Luviagelita Edelfelt.

Our superiors in the Association are still technically in opposite political camps. Though I do not care much for their conflict. I must obey their orders. I will see what they, as well as my direct superior, Father Kotomine, say about your suggestion. Still, I personally would not be averse in helping you train your students. Not only were they weak, but they were also not careful enough. If they are allowed to continue unchecked, they might reveal the existence of magecraft to non-mages by accident if nothing else.
