talking to Kyon, Bazett decides that she should start her observation with the people she knows. In this case, it means she should observe the Rin copy first. She would behave as if nothing had changed and pretend that the copy is the real Tohsaka. She would then observe the copy's reactions

So far, from what I have observed from the new constructs, they do not have a set behavioral patter aside from generally claiming to be the people that they replaced. Even then, that varies from construct to construct. Their only other shared trait is the unnatural feeling that they give off. Generally, they appear and behave extremely similar to the people they replaced, and in some cases even hold similar beliefs. Strangely, as creations of this town, they actually claim to hate the place, much like the originals.c

[Even now, her memories of Tohsaka have gotten murkier and murkier. She has even started to forget about the personality of the Tohsaka from her world.]

Perhaps the setup of this "game" is to tantalize us with the fact that while we know there are copies of our comrades in this town, we cannot remember the originals? If so, then there needs to be some "goal" to this game. In the previous doppleganger situation, it was to locate our replaced comrades. At Thanksgiving, it was to survive the disaster. So what is the goal here?

[It irks her that this boy is willing to give up this easily.]
Perhaps it is only so confusing because the true "setup" has yet to be revealed.... After all, the situation just a few days ago seemed to indicate another survival game. Maybe my earlier hypothesis is correct and these replacements are but another distraction from the true "setup?"

(... Do I know anyone by that name? ... I'm not sure. Surely, I'd remember if I did. Then again, this event is supposedly messing around with our memory...)

[He supposedly said something else about her too, but she could not remember what.]

(Was she in my class at North High...? I need to think hard here, the seat behind me... belongs to Asakura. Hmm, why did that come to mind anyway? Asakura has nothing to do with this.)

[The memories are fading too fast for comfort. Already, the boy has forgotten almost everything about his comrade. How long would it be until she too forgets completely about Tohsaka? Even now, she has forgotten much of Tohsaka's activities in Mayfield. However, she is still aware that there is a Tohsaka in Mayfield, and there is likewise one in her home universe.]
Did you not make any notes about her?

[But what would happen if they could not solve the "game" in time? What would happen if they forgot their comrades before then? It is a horrifying thought and not one that she wishes to dwell on.]
