Again. So much knowing. But. I love the concept of Akiko getting on with Yuuko. It's priceless (and terrifying). Also, one of these days I will prod you until you tell me how you manage to come up with titles.

Er, I think that for traditional Japanese, they don't use tables or sit on chairs; they sit on a cushion on the floor. Especially for something like a marriage meeting, which is quite formal in Japan.
Touya Koyo strikes me as someone who is quite traditional and formal.

Er... I don't think the author was writing this as an omiai. I'm fairly certain it was just an informal meeting.

Of course, I could be wrong, but that's just the way I took it as a reader.
