Yeah, I've heard all that abotu Roddenbury. I never have really cared much what an author/creator's intention was with the work. I mean it's nice to keep in mind, but ultimately it's what is rationally defensible from the text that counts. It is cool that Roddenbury was open minded, though!

I DO see Jim as a bit of a player. But there's nothing wrong with that! I'd like to think in the 23rd century there would no longer be a stigma on promsicuity, and people would recognize there's nothing at all wrong with being a slut. And just because Jim was a slut at first doesn't mean he couldn't be a monogamist with Spock later, if that's the ship which floats your boat<3 (which is my head canon for the TOS Spirk)

But yeah...my whole point is what you said, that there would be no "heterosexual" or "homoesexual" people. Just acts. And that all kinds of relationships would be equally valuable without this stupid fethization of hetero-normative monogamy we have today.
