Brian Jacques passed away. He was most notably the author of the Redwall series- a long-running, era-spanning set of tales about anthropomorphic woodland creatures and the battles they fought in and around the titular Redwall Abbey.
To this day, they were my favorite fantasy series. Through elementary school and middle school, I religiously read them and about them, made up fan characters, and generally adored everything about the books.
And now there won't be any more.
