The fact that Toru was applied and written with a limited understanding of the Hermit arcana has come back and bitten me in the ass. I finally realized this weekend that I have NO FUCKING CLUE concerning his character trajectory, since it's full of uncertain/unstable scenarios, characters that I have no insight into the development/behavior of, and my own shoddy writing. If I try to retroactively apply the concepts of the Hermit to him now, he may actually get even more depressing to write, which is something I'm wary of inflicting upon myself.
Or I could drop him and use Kojima as my Persona-user. Of course, Kojima hardly fits the Hermit, either.
God, I fucking hate the Hermit. IF I HAD PAID ATTENTION TO TAROT SYMBOLISM AND NOT GIVEN HIM THE MOST SUPERFICIAL RELATIONSHIP TO THE ARCANA EVER, I WOULD'VE NOTICED THIS EARLIER AND GONE WITH AN ARCANA THAT I ACTUALLY LIKE. LIKE CHARIOT. OR STRENGTH. OR STAR. OR ANYTHING BUT HERMIT.
But trying to think about Toru's future is like trying to sail through thick fog. I can't see five feet ahead, and I'm bound to hit a rock sooner or later. I can't even get rid of the fog by killing a giant disco eyeball.
