Crash! Boom! Bang!

So, I haven't posted in an age and a half. Well, I generally don't because I don't consider what happens to me to be all that interesting. Today, something interesting happened.

And that's the side that didn't get hit. More after the cut.

So I'm coming home from work on a divided road. Somebody turns left in front of me. No big deal. But the SUV and the Impala that follow that follow that car are. I brake and spin the wheel, but it's no good. I feel one impact, then another, then things start spinning for real. Another impact, from the other side. I have no idea what's going on. I know the two cars have hit me, and the Impala now has its fender planted in my door. Fortunately, I had the windows down so there's very little glass. I rant and rave for a bit, then scramble around for my cell phone, which had been in the cup holder before the accident, and was who knows where now. I desperately need to talk to Dawn and to my mother, for peace of mind and to get a ride home. I also have no insurance, which is not going to go well. I see the sidewalk out of the passenger side window, and realise I'm impaled on it. It'll be a few hours later before it sinks in that my car is bent now, wasp-waisted like the Mach 5, except a Lincoln's not supposed to be like that. All I know is that I can't get my fingers between the door and the seat like I usually can. So I start feeling under instead. I can't find the bloody thing. Black phones are no good in shadow. When the police officer shows up, I ask him to call it. Ah, there it is, in the crack between seat and door that I could no longer get into. Now that I know where to poke, I do so, and manage to knock it out to where I can reach it. I then climb out of the car.

Oh, dear.

The pictures really speak for themselves. I'm just gonna dump them here. Forgive. Some were taken at the scene, some at the tow yard. BTW, the SUV was the only car capable of driving.

A closer view of the rear driver side tire. Yeah, that metal bit's supposed to be attached. So's all that other stuff you see.

The passenger side rear tire.

The door amuses me most.

I couldn't get a good shot, but the seats overlap now.

It's a little hard to tell, but all the straight lines are skewed. Notice that the hump in the back seat is no longer symmetrical.

And the other guy. I definitely think I got the worst of this deal!
