I should post more. Not like I've been doing much else besides reading every decent Snarry fic on the internet and playing Dragon Quest IX lately. I'm slightly over 80k on WS #6, and I've only poked it a few times in the last week. It's like the wild animal I'm trying not to irritate, lest it rip my head off. xD;

NOT THE BEST MINDSET, GOTTA WORK ON THAT.

Besides that, I've been slowly looking at what I'll be doing when I get home/around the time I head home; my resume is a joke, I haven't edited the thing since 2006. I need to hit up someone who can help me make my consistent, yet oddly mixed work history sound awesome. The job prospects are hazy at this point, no surprise..considering I'm going rather abruptly from about $40k a year to $0 until I find something new, this isn't too appealing. If anyone has any awesome suggestions for an Anthro major with a creative writing minor, I'm all ears. Besides the possibility of going back to sub if I'm hard up for choices, I have no interest in teaching anymore.

SIGH.

Going with a pro service to send my stuff back to the US, my crap is too heavy otherwise. Not bulky, just heavy. Pro service charges by volume, not weight. This is a good thing, as it's cheaper than the post office, with a much faster turn-around. Around $700-800 vs. the probably close to $1500+ I'd be spending otherwise.

Looking a bit into the procedure for claiming my Japanese pension refund...this is super important because it'll be some $7000 or so free and clear forked over to me from the JP government if done correctly. I need that money to help with the credit cards and probable deposit on wherever I eventually move to. xD

Current plan is to move out (again) around June-July of 2012, if everything goes well. Hopefully, by that point, I'll have a decent job, my pension refund will have long arrived, and I will have pared down some of the epic amounts of shit I have amassed over the years. I've basically taken over my parent's shed and parts of the garage with boxes already, and that doesn't include what I'm mailing back. ^^;

Have decided to keep my Japanese sewing machine, having a extra decent computerized model around is always helpful. Need to get a pedal for it after I get back sometime.

I hope to have at least a little cash from my successor, who will get 2 options for the stuff in the apartment (pre-negotiation.) $600 will net them everything minus the TV, $1000 will net them everything including the TV. Even though it's now 3 years old, a 1080p 37" LCD is still 2-4x the price in Japan that it is in the US. I paid $1200 new for it. x_X I have a feeling I'll be negotiating, though. I have a possible second buyer for the TV if my successor doesn't want it. I'd bring it back, but it uses some proprietary TV signal stuff I don't want to deal with, and I have a 40" waiting for me anyhow.

I miss sewing sometimes, like I miss my drawing pencil bag. Which I appear to have lost sometime from MoVal back to my apartment. I'm just glad I didn't have the Copic liners in there. ^^; ::emos:: I've bought replacements for some of the pencils, but I need to buy a new drawstring bag now. Probably in Tokyo.

For something totally different, I'm going to a Goth Ball (so named, anyhoo) in Osaka this Saturday. Of course, something like this comes about AFTER I take my velvet cloak and bustle skirt home. :/ Ah well, I'll wing it. Hopefully I'll be able to fit in Outback whilst I'm there.

Kyoto Dolpa mid-March, Tokyo for 4 days at the beginning of April. Mainly going for Tokyo DisneySea (going with the wonderful Kei and Mark!,) but I plan to do a bit of shopping too. Slime Store, here I come! :D

Probable road-trip to southern Hiroshima Prefecture for Golden Week, depending on certain people's plans. ^_~

I've lost track of how much vacation time I have left...I think it's around 15 days, but I'm not positive. I'm using 4 at the beginning of April, 2 at Golden Week...and I might have like 10 left after that. Blah. I need to figure that out. I know I'll be burning a decent amount near the end of my contract for packing and stuff, so probably not using much besides that.

I need to reglue chibi!Pike and chibi!Scotty's necks, they've both broken. Luckily, it's an easy fix.  :)

Almost done with Dragon Quest IX (not including the jillions of sidequests) this will be the first RPG I've finished in quite some time. ^^; My team members are based on NCIS. :D Tony is the hero, Gibbs is the warrior/paladin, Tim (McGee) is the priest, and Abby is the wizard. ;) I'll have to post a picture sometime~

The Star Trek Experience in Riverside lost shedloads of money. :/ I know they said they spent some $100k to advertise, but I seriously doubt it. Also, the setup could have been wayy nicer, and it could have been in a more appropriate area. They put it right by the Mission Inn, which has an entirely different sort of clientele, for the most part. :/ Bad planning, Riverside.

If anyone wants anything from the Slime Store (more accurately known as the Square-Enix Store) or DisneySea, let me know sooner rather than later!

As I appear to be on a roll, I will post an abbreviated account of my trip home before I forget to do so again. ^^;

i'm actually writing about me
