Vacation Time
Confused Nikki asked, “Stargazing?”
“Yeah.” He turned his back to her once again.
Nikki glanced up at the sky. Stars of every shape and radiance were sparkling back down at her. She moved her eyes back to her best friend to find him looking at the tree line on the opposite bank.
“I thought you were stargazing.” Nikki began, “Why are you looking at the trees?”
Sendecial turned once again to her and smiled crookedly. He held out a hand. “Come see.”
“But I’ll get all wet. And this is a new dress.”
“Trust me.” He wiggled his fingers to her smiling again. “Come on.”
Nikki looked at him in the lake up to his hips and shivered. She should have worn a warmer dress. Stepping out cautiously and slowly she made her way to him, the water settling at her navel. Shivering she said, “The stars aren’t any different out here then back at the shore.”
“Just wait.” He placed his hands on her shoulder turning her to the forest.
Together they waited for which Nicolette knew not. She looked up to the sky once again, but Sendecial pointed over her shoulder at something before her.
And she gasped.
The lake was gleaming; covered in stars more radiant than those above her. The water surface, now settled from her movement earlier reflected the stars brilliance with a hazy edge giving the lake a magical glow as if covered by fairies. Everything surrounding her made Nikki feel as if she was in the sky itself.
As if she was flying.
“I love stargazing.” Nikki whispered to herself.Please review. I would like to hear what you peoples think.
