Dear Yuletide Santa
Firstly, and most importantly, THANK YOU!
My requests look detailed, I know, however optional details are most definitely optional, so as long as the story focuses on my two favourite characters, I will love it dearly. *g*
General likes & loves:
I love my OTP's and stories about how they get together. I like a little bit of angst so long as there's a happy ending (for my character or OTP) at the end. I like good spelling, punctuation and grammar, and third person POVs. I enjoy R and NC17 ratings if the rating is relevant to the plot and I love touching, making out, fighting (physical and/or verbal), sexing (fade to black or not), and banter/good dialogue. Five times styled fics are awesome, as are the more traditional beginning-middle-end.
Do not wants:
AUs where everyone's in high school, or the wild west, or they're all vampires, etc -- I like my canon universes as they are; established relationships (I prefer to read about how pairings get together rather than them already being together); relationships other than the OTPs I've mentioned; character deaths (unless otherwise noted); first/second POVs; character bashing; porn for the sake of porn, BDSM, non-con, sub-dom, rape, abuse, etc.
The Lost World (TV), John Roxton, Marguerite Krux
(Marguerite/Roxton) I would love to read a post-the-series-cliffhanger story about Marguerite and Roxton both still on the plateau and creating a life for themselves in the Lost World. I'd prefer something a little closer to dark than to fluff but having these two get together, and knowing that's where they're supposed to be (and being happy with that) is the important part. Maybe the others have gone off on a long-term adventure and it's just Marguerite and Roxton left at the treehouse for some reason? However you want to spin them being alone together at the treehouse would be awesome.
Okay, so this show is implausible and cracktastic and the acting comes and go but I love it dearly nonetheless. I'd rather not have the other characters as a focus -- they can be there, sure, but I'd really like this story to be about Marguerite and Roxton and their stupidly wonderful relationship with all its misunderstandings and unrelenting attraction and love and angst. I love how complex Marguerite is, how steadfastly loyal Roxton is to her, and how at the beginning, middle and end of each day, these two always gravitate to each other. I find it hard to believe, despite the time period, that after three years of making out and declaring their love for each other they have apparently only ever had sex once (in the second last ever episode) so if your story calls for a little bit of sexing (even fade to black sexing) that would be awesome.
Becker (TV), Regina 'Reggie' Kostas, John Becker
(Becker/Reggie) Becker is an unashamed jerk and Reggie is a self-confessed mess but together they somehow just work. They don't pull any punches with each other -- Reggie calls him on it when he's being an ass, and Becker is the first to tell her when she's making a mistake -- but they're also the people they tend to turn to when things get too much (okay, usually it's a reluctant turn, but still).
I really only pay attention to the first three seasons of the show so anything that branches off from that time period would be awesome. Maybe a continuation of the 'what if' in the season one finale "Regarding Reggie" where Reggie agrees they should keep it 'friend's only' only for Becker to fall and want more? Or a post-ep to the season two finale "Panic on the 86th"? Or five times Becker and Reggie spend the night together? Or have dinner together? Or sleep together (with whatever definition of 'sleep' you like)?
Really there's not a lot more I can add to my sign up. I just want Becker and Reggie in all their dysfunction to be happy together. Please keep them snarking and trying to one-up each other and, if you can smatter in some sex and caring for each other while you're at it, that would be fantastic.
Wildest Dreams - Taylor Swift (Music Video), Marjorie Finn, Robert Kingsley
(Marjorie/Robert) The story inside this music video is all kinds of epic and gorgeous and I adore everything about it. I would love to see the romance between Marjorie and Robert fleshed out further. Was their first meeting on set? When did they realise they were falling in love? What was the fight about? Did Marjorie really not know he was married? What happened after the premiere -- did they reconcile and continue their affair? Did Robert get divorced and marry Marjorie? Please tell me they got a happily ever after!
This music video is breathtaking, the "movie" they're shooting absolutely gorgeous, but it's the romance between the stars that fascinates me most. The director of the video says it's based on classic Hollywood romances like Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton; while Swift herself has said her premise for the video is that -- since social media did not exist in the '50s -- it would be impossible for actors not to fall in love if they were isolated together in Africa, since there would be no one else to talk to.
Anything about these two actors falling in love and getting together, in a fic that's true to the time period, would be dearly adored.
