Dear Santa,
Thank you so much! You're writing a story, just for me, in one of my favourite obscure fandoms and that totally makes you one of my favourite people. Hee!
My requests are kinda detailed however optional details are most definitely optional, so as long as the story focuses on my two favourite characters, I will love it dearly. *g*
In general: I love my OTP's and stories about how they get together (as opposed to them already being in an established relationship). I like a little bit of angst so long as there's a happy ending (for my OTP) at the end. I like good spelling, punctuation and grammar, and third person POVs (but not first or second person POVs). I hate character bashing but I have no problem with character deaths if the story requires it (providing the two characters I've requested don't die). I enjoy R and NC17 ratings if the rating is relevant to the plot (ie, no porn just for the sake of porn, pls), but I dislike BDSM, non-con, sub-dom, and rape, etc. I love touching, making out, fighting (physical and/or verbal), sexing (fade to black or not), and banter/good dialogue. Five times styled fics are awesome, as are the more traditional beginning-middle-end.
The Lost World (TV), John Roxton, Marguerite Krux
(Marguerite/Roxton) I would love to read a post-the-series-cliffhanger story about Marguerite and Roxton both still on the plateau, creating a life for themselves in the Lost World. I'd prefer something a little closer to dark than to fluff but having these two get together, and knowing that's where they're supposed to be (and being happy with that) is the important part. Maybe the others have gone off on a long-term adventure and it's just Marguerite and Roxton left at the treehouse for some reason? However you want to spin them being alone together at the treehouse would be awesome.
Okay, so this show is implausible and cracktastic and the acting comes and go but I love it dearly nonetheless. I'd rather not have the other characters as a focus -- they can be there, sure, but I'd really like this story to be about Marguerite and Roxton and their stupidly wonderful relationship with all its misunderstandings and unrelenting attraction and love and angst. I love how complex Marguerite is, how steadfastly loyal Roxton is to her, and how at the beginning, middle and end of each day, these two always gravitate to each other. I find it hard to believe, despite the time period, that after three years of making out and declaring their love for each other they have apparently only ever had sex once (in the second last ever episode) so if your story calls for a little bit of sexing (even fade to black sexing) that would be awesome.
Stargate Universe, Vanessa James, Matthew Scott
(Scott/James) Scott and James, together. The two of them post-the-series-cliffhanger, awake and still surviving. I love the idea of them dealing with their past relationship and building a new one together, especially if that includes them exploring Destiny together, and/or being stranded off-ship together. (Note: obviously a dissolution of Scott's relationship with Chloe would be fantastic. Chloe-bashing, however, would not be.)
I have adored the Stargate franchise since day one, and this newest version got my attention with one thing: my chosen OTP (Scott/James) had a sex-against-the-wall-in-a-storage-room scene in the first fifteen minutes of the series. Sex. against. the. wall.
I love their issues -- both combined and individual -- and I adore the fact that they're stranded with no way home (note: I hate the communication stones. The more cut off these people are the better). I love James more than Scott (by the end of the show she was pretty much the go-to person anytime anyone on the ship needed assistance, and yet she still kept a measure of distance between herself and the rest of the crew), but I adore them together, so. Anything that deals with their issues and has them making out/sexing would be brilliant. The PTB continued to feed us little moments about these two all the way through the series and I honestly believe that they could have been an endgame pairing had the show continued.
Illusion - Paula Volsky, Eliste vo Derrivalle, Dref Zeenoson
(Dref/Eliste) Dref and Eliste, together. Something set during the end stages of the revolution would be awesome, when Eliste is staying with Dref and they're both in danger of being caught and executed -- Eliste for being Exalted and Dref for working with Nirienne -- and there's UST and fear in abundance. Similarly, something set post-book would also be awesome -- starting a life together; dealing with the personal effects the revolution had on them; having, finally, what they want (each other).
My favourite novel. Ever. I love Eliste and Dref and the revolution. I adore the evolution of Eliste's character throughout, how she grows and adapts, the mistakes she makes, the skills she learns. She's not perfect but she is a survivor and in her heart is Dref, the boy she shouldn't love but does. Dref who is strong and resourceful and full of thoughts and ideas and feelings he's not allowed to have but does anyway.
Lost in Space (1998), Don West, Judy Robinson
(Don/Judy) Don and Judy, together, post the movie and falling for each other. I would love a story showing these two developing a relationship while trying to survive and get themselves unlost. These two lend themselves perfectly to one of my favourite tropes of all time -- two characters, stranded together -- so a story where these two get a little lost themselves (maybe left behind on some planet?) and find each other while finding their way would be all kinds of awesome. I realise they are not the only two people stranded/lost (there's the rest of Judy's family, Dr Smith, and the robot) however they are the two I'm most interested in.
Okay, so the movie was pretty bad. And Matt LeBlanc's delivery of half his lines was incredibly cheesy and over the top. But despite that -- hee! This movie is fun and cracktastic and holds a special place in my heart. I'm familiar with the TV show only generally and have probably watched less than half a dozen episodes in recent years, if that, so I don't mind if you borrow from the show so long as the fic is based on the characters and world-building we got in the movie.
Things I really would not want in this fic would be Don's cheesy pick up lines, spiders (there were enough of those in the movie!), Don hooking up with Penny (or anyone else in the family), or an over abundance of the other characters. (I've no problems with them being there on the periphery, but please don't have them as a focus.)
The Faculty (1998), Zeke Tyler, Elizabeth Burke (The Faculty)
(Zeke/Miss Burke) Show me how these two end up together at the end of the movie and the effect the invasion had on them. How do they handle what has happened to them? How does Zeke deal with the fact that he essentially killed her? How does she handle the fact that she's fallen for a guy who is technically still her student? How does Zeke go from being the guy who ran the school black market to being the new football star? I think these two probably had a serious case of PTSD after the movie, and that that helped them bridge their age differences and existing teacher/student relationship, so a story showing how they've dealt with that and moved into this new romantic relationship would be awesome.
These two captured my attention more than any of the other characters the very first time I saw this movie. I love the fact that he's strangely protective of her (he "saves" her in class, when no one else will say anything), that he regrets pushing her buttons when she tries to confront him about his extracurricular activities (eg, in the parking lot), that she knows how much smarter he is than what he pretends to be, and that she clearly has a back-story that's never even touched on in the movie.
I consider the age difference to be less than more (that is, if he's eighteen or nineteen, she's probably the early side of mid-twenties), so if you could please keep them less than ten years apart, that would be great. Also, while she does become uber!confident during the invasion, I don't think that she's secretly some sort of domantrix so, please, while I'm okay with her being a little less timid and wallflower-ish, I don't want to see any sort of a sub-dom relationship here.
Becker (TV), Regina 'Reggie' Kostas, John Becker
(Becker/Reggie) Becker is an unashamed jerk and Reggie is a self-confessed mess but together they somehow just work. They don't pull any punches with each other -- Reggie calls him on it when he's being an ass, and Becker is the first to tell her when she's making a mistake -- but they're also the people they tend to turn to when things get too much (okay, usually it's a reluctant turn, but still). I really only pay attention to the first three seasons of the show so anything that branches off from that time period would be awesome. Maybe a continuation of the 'what if' in the season one finale "Regarding Reggie" where Reggie agrees they should keep it 'friend's only' only for Becker to fall and want more? Or a post-ep to the season two finale "Panic on the 86th"? Or five times Becker and Reggie spend the night together? Or have dinner together? Or sleep together (with whatever definition of 'sleep' you like)?
Really there's not a lot more I can add to my sign up. I just want Becker and Reggie in all their dysfunction to be happy together. Please keep them snarking and trying to one-up each other and, if you can smatter in some sex and caring for each other while you're at it, that would be fantastic.
