This is Ana talking  -
A while ago, I had posted in my private Bl;og about compliments and the good feelings they can bring.  Even the silly stuff you don't thinks matters, it could just mean the world to someone else.  Here is my cut and paste of that posting...

So many of us are quick to tell people when we are unhappy or how something made us feel.  I agree we should do that respectfully.  It helps people either clarify their intentions as opposed to what was interpreted, or it helps them learn about you and what your triggers are and if they care, how to avoid those in the future.  But in being able to point out the negative, we also need to point out the positive when it occurs.  I try to do that, I could certainly stand to do it more.  But with the thanks and recognition I am receiving from my current job, it motivates me to continue.  When I don't think I can keep going (in general I'm referring to), a thank you or recognition or compliment goes a long way of replenishing the soul.  We have that power to help replenish each other and it is "cheap" to do...  We can never fix it for someone with a compliment, but we can certainly offer that boost to get each other over the hump sometimes.  I will make an effort to be more strength based and complimentary, not overly so that it appears fake, but definitely when deserved.  Perhaps I shall try to give a compliment a day, even if it's just "your hair looks nice."  Think about it...  The happy surge you feel when you receive a compliment, doesn't it keep you smiling for quite a while after you get the compliment?  Now imagine yourself the source of making someone else keep on smiling for a while...  It looks like a win-win to me...

So now, I saw a recent posting from a friend that is cut an pasted below.  I thought it might be fun.  Give it a shot yourself!

One little compliment or affirmation can make you feel amazing. So give me a compliment, anything in the entire world, even that my shoelaces are pretty, then post this in your own journal. Once you get some comments, put that entry in a memory or tag, and when you are feeling down, just go to that entry and it will remind you how great you are!

Comments will remain private, and anonymous is okay.
