State of the Unicorn Address
Well, I haven't been posting much. I haven't felt very inspired to address the internet audience the last couple months... But here I am giving anyone reading a status update.
I took a trip down to the southern states with Tomas' Mom for work last month. Met Tomas down in Ft. Lauderdale, and then headed to Gulf Wars ahead of him. Had car troubles after leaving Lauderdale, in the midst of terrible weather. Fixed the car in pouring rain. Next day had an accident and flipped the trailer; so much for my spotless driving record! Gathered up the remains of the trailer and continued onward. Got set up (late) at Gulf, and had mediocre sales. Came home and promptly came down sick. Apparently all three of us contracted something down there.
Where does that leave me now? To be clear, I am alright, as are Tomas and Susan. The accident (which I don't care to discuss) only resulted in damage to the business trailer. Myself, my passenger, and the car itself were all fine. No one was hurt. I came home with no paycheck to speak of (had to pay for towing/repairs), but I still have a job and my boss isn't TOO upset with me. Damage was minimal, no merchandise was ruined, and the only effect on sales was to distract the boss during the later half of Gulf Wars so we got fewer custom jobs/commissions than usual.
So overall, although it was a lousy trip, it was as minimally lousy as it could be given circumstances.
Now I am getting over the illness (whatever it was) and helping to rebuild all the things that were damaged.
Tomorrow Phil & I go to see his parents for Easter, and I sincerely hope it is a pleasantly uneventful trip. Next week I have a day-trip to Southern Ohio with Tomas to get final approvals on the building we are planning there.
