A/N: This is actually something I wrote a long time ago (still a oneshot, naturally), and for some reason I never put it up on my journal. ^^; Whoops. It's always fun to find things you forgot about writing, lol. And it's a nice break from all the JaeHo I've been posting lately. (although...OMG has anyone else seen videos of all the JaeHo moments at the SM concert?!?! -dies a million times over-...-needs to write oneshot about it-)

Anyways, I hope you like it! ^__^ As always, comments are loved and appreciated <333

He hadn’t been writing for more than ten minutes before a hasty pair arms looped around his waist, forcibly tugging him out from the thesis statement he had just been mulling over and into the sudden, familiar warmth found in those impatient limbs. Mm. Impatience always had a way of causing that flush of heat inside of him. Brushing factor not suited at all for term papers. Or essays. Or anything, really.

“So what are you doing?”

Jaejoong had to know the answer to that. Realize with just one look that Changmin’s lap was completely overrun with the demanding press of schoolwork, each side of his body boasting a different flavor of textbook, yet even that couldn’t still the hopes of potentially exasperating the other.

“Working.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“Why are you working?”

Changmin heaved a sigh, pausing for a moment before inclining his head to what could hardly be described as a turn. Merely a wisp of acceptance, nowhere near defeat. He didn’t give up that easily. Jaejoong’s face was incredibly near, chin moving to perch lightly on his shoulder while his arms remained a restless bundle of energy, clashing with the calm that had settled over the younger male’s senses. Work had a way of dulling the body. Perhaps that was why Jaejoong took his excitable limbs elsewhere. Trying to save Changmin from that fate.

“I have to write this term paper for a class,” Changmin explained impatiently, waiting for the appropriate amount of time before settling into his position once again, eyes trained downward, back straight, mind narrowing down to a single, particular path. Unfortunately, Jaejoong didn’t quite fit there.

“Why are you writing it now?” But he was barreling through anyways. As if following along that path, throwing up his arms, and running about exclaiming what about me? i’m here! don’t you see me??

i see you. now go away.

Changmin swallowed the answer on the tip of his tongue, deciding against answering the question for fear of seven more trailing afterwards, honed by that lingering protest in Jaejoong’s voice. Honestly, what else would he be doing right after dinner? He had only assumed that this was customary, holing himself up in his studies while Yoochun and Junsu watched some drama on the couch, Yunho usually driven to complete some solitary track he had worked on for weeks. It was a nice schedule. Changmin liked it. And yet there were times like these…times where he could feel the itch crawling along the other’s skin. Impatience.

Not that he didn’t get that way sometimes. Or that he could always keep his mind so focused on schoolwork when-

Ah, that thesis statement was just calling his name.

“Changmin-ah…”

No wait. That was his hyung.

“Today’s exactly five months,” Jaejoong breezed, settling nicely into the subtle curve of the collarbone just peeking through Changmin’s shirt. Said so simply. Too simply.

wait…what?

After the initial silence finally drained from Changmin’s lips, he inclined his head again, turning all the way around to meet the large brown eyes staring back at him, and if he had doubted any single one of those words, the truth winking at him in those expressive orbs was more than enough. He opened his mouth, then closed it. A hand brushed against the smooth, marble-white surface of the paper now forgotten in the midst of his swirling thoughts and tossed it carelessly to the side. Rejected piece of Changmin’s attention. He couldn’t have stopped Jaejoong even if he had wanted to, his eyes flickering to the paper once before returning to the older male.

“I can’t believe you remembered something like that.”

“I can’t believe you’re working on our anniversary,” Jaejoong shot back at him accusingly, though the pokes that raided the younger male’s back just then weren’t threatening in the least, just as most of the things the blond happened to do. Much to his distress.

That didn’t stop him from getting his point across, however, leaning back from the other far enough to let the stream of words fall less like a purred whisper and more a sulky pout against the student’s ears. Jaejoong’s arms retreated from their current niche and found the loose cotton of the other’s shirt, tugging lightly. Impatiently.

“Chaaaaangmin. Five months. I think that’s pretty important, don’t you? And if it’s important we should take notice of it instead of staying inside the bedroom and studying like-”

The press of lips muffled the heated words, enclosing whatever was left of that lingering sentence and giving it a slow, warm death.

The textbooks were given a rather rude shove as Changmin’s hand searched for a place to support the sudden shift of his body, his fingers knocking against the hard binding while the other hand grasped the sweeping curve of Jaejoong’s neck. Curled into soft hair, sinking in honeyed strands. Those impatient limbs from before were finally offered a sweet release from their self-imposed cage, circling around until there was nothing more to hold onto, and Changmin could taste how badly Jaejoong had wanted this, this single note of affection, this brush of attention that he really only wanted to claim from one person.

Work did have a way of dulling Changmin’s body. But maybe Jaejoong also had a way of reviving it.

When Changmin finally released the older male from his grasp, fingers slowly melting down neck, shoulder, arm, he found a new sort of path developing in his mind, one that appeared rather intriguing, straying off from the main course, covered with numerable twists and turns and unexpected dips along the way. Not practical. But at least it was scenic.

And that flush of heat was completely overriding that thesis statement.

five months, huh?

Changmin rolled that bit of information around in his head once more before sliding the older male a quick glance, one that had nothing to do with schedules or schoolwork or anything of the sort. Flash of a smile, cutting through the short distance. And then he spoke the words that momentarily left Jaejoong stunned into silence, roles suddenly reversed.

“Who said we had to leave the bedroom?”

He didn’t even leave Jaejoong room to respond.

happy anniversary to us.
