I haven't posted for so long now. It's been a hectic past few months. Vascular surgery was tough 'cause my senior resident took a week long vacation and my fellow intern was not the most reliable person to handle the team with. Then another month of Internal Medicine, which was not bad but just frustrating because of all the social issues attached with the VA. And then I was back in the MICU, the longest, toughest month of my life so far. 12-16 hour days on average, 6 days of night float covering up to 17 patients at a time, 1-3 admissions per day, sick, sick sick patients, many of which were actively dying. Now I'm back doing Internal Medicine but it's been stressful 'cause my attending likes to present in front of the patient (like what you see on Grey's Anatomy), which is totally unusual and awkward. Thank goodness for medical students.
Now, I want to write a pretty serious post that's been on my mind since I finished my MICU rotation, but my head is pounding right now and I don't think I could write it right now. So stay tuned, I guess.
