i fEeL iT iN ThE AiR, ThE SuMmEr'S OuT oF rEaCh...
hey guys... well let's see, i haven't updated in awhile, so lemme just warn you: this is about to be one massive entry... meaning most of you won't bother to read it.. but um oh well i'm gonna write it anyway! :)
mmkay well let's start with last week. i don't think anything too important happened in the beginning, tuesday and thursday were our last two band practices :( it's all good though, now i should have some more time to focus on my grades, 'cause they're slippin a little bit.. friday was a crazy day.. i had school, then went to the mall with the girls' soccer team to eat before our first game, then went back to school and hung out until the game.. me and margret and becca were kickin' around a soccer ball and watchin' the guys practice.. got devin in trouble cause he was talking to me lol.. then we went in the weight room and were just sittin in there talkin to a couple guys.. until they got kicked out by coach.. went over to the front of the school and saw andy, walked back with him to the locker room, got dressed and left for the game!
rode to the game (against pcola high), sat the bench the whole game (ugh!), and we ended up winnin 3-0. katy's parents drove me home, where i took a shower and packed, took a 15 minute nap, talked to mis padres, and andy gave me a ride up to the school at 3:00 for the orlando trip! i was sooo exhausted once we got on the bus, but when i was walkin around the band room i was pretty awake. allison was like "i hate you shawna, you're too awake and your hair doesn't even look bad" haha but it got pretty messed up durin the rest of the trip.. we were walkin around the park and andy was like "omg shawna your hair's not perfect anymore!!" haha like that's the first time...
anyways, the orlando trip was awesome! we left 2 hours late because buses 3, 4, and 5 were all late... i was on bus 1 so i just slept while waitin for the other buses to get there.. better than standing out in the cold and waiting! i'm really glad i was on bus 1, 'cause it ended up being the cleanest best-smelling one, and the one with the best chaperones :) also had nelson and hannah and scallan. on the way there i mostly slept, i was soo tired... then when we got closer we had to start changing (on the bus lol because we were so late so we had to compromise for time) and getting into our uniforms and stuff. we did our prelims competition (which we thought sucked, could've been way better), and the judges must've been on crack 'cause they placed us 1st in 5A class and 2nd overall.. we lost 2 captions, auxiliary and music, but that's pretty sweet anyway hehe.
then we go home to the hotel, smug in the fact that we are performing 2nd to last so we have a couple hours to nap and eat.. i walked with lacy and allison and cara over to wendy's, then we stopped at payless haha.. omg at wendy's lacy threw a fry at me and it stuck to my shirt and her and cara started crackin up and i didn't know why!! then i look down and i have barbeque sauce all over my shirt! she threw a fry with sauce on it :( lol it's all good though, now my grey band shirt is authentic :) anyway, so we get a notice that there's a meeting 45 min earlier than the time we were originally supposed to meet, and we find out that finals are cancelled because of rain.. which really sucks cause i really wanted to perform again and not end our tour on a show that was only mediocre, but oh well. and it would've been sweet to be judged by the director of the cavies and Saucedo. one of the bands did a remake of the '95 cavaliers' show, the planets, and that woulda been cool to hear the tape from the cavies' judge on how he liked their version of it. i talked to a couple of 'em at Islands of Adventure and they said they were thinking about doing frameworks next year ('02 show) how sweet would that be!! they were like "yeah, our band is like obsessed with the cavaliers".. haha, patrick would like that band. so anyways, we hung out at the hotel waitin for lights out time.. walked around and talked about some stuff w/ aaron, then chilled in the lounge w/ a bunch of ppl and watched a few minutes of the LSU game. then we went to sleep, i roomed w/ lacy allison and cara.. it was fun, we didn't do much in the room, cause we were all really exhausted..
sunday was great.. we woke up and loaded the buses, then went to Islands of Adventure! we were singin on the bus ride there, and then we got there and set off to ride the rides! i hung out w/ andy and cara and we rode all of the roller coasters, it was great :) we were very efficient. when we were on our 3rd ride, others were just getting to their first, haha.. the express pass is a grand thing :). hmm not a whole lot happened at the park that i can remember other than walkin around and just ridin rides and stuff, it was fun. we rushed back to the buses cause we thought we were really late and the chaperones were yelling at us, but when we got there we didnt end up loading the buses til like 10 min later. but oh well hehe, it's all good. so then we set off for home.
the trip home was probably one of the funnest parts, i dunno why.. i ended up stayin awake for most of it.. we watched the best of will farrel (i can't believe cara had never heard of SNL!!), Amadeus (very good movie, kinda weird but good, haha nelson made us watch it), and Shrek 2. i was gonna go to sleep and just watch shrek 2 later but andy was like wait shawna just 2 more minutes! cause he wanted me to see the cat's adorable eyes hehe.. and then i saw em and i was like "aaaaawwwwwwwhhhhhhh!!!!!" omg they are sooooo cute! and i just had to stay up for the rest of the movie 'cause it was so good. i can't believe i had never gone to see it before hehe. but it was really cute. haha on the bus ride home i was like, being so blonde lol. andy knows. it was stupid lol. 'cause like we were just talking about how the bus was vibrating alot and like bouncing and how when i was asleep it was makin my head bounce everywhere haha, then like a few seconds later andy turns on a light and tyler turns it off and andy was like "tyler did you turn that off?" and he goes "no" and i was like "hmm... maybe the vibration of the bus made it shut off"... haha... stupid thing to say! cause tyler really had turned it off and i dunno... i'll just say i was really tired lol, and out of it. and then tyler decides to tell everyone that passes by how blonde i am lol... his mom, nelson, steph.. haha it's all good though. at least i didn't think that it was lightnining outside because someone was taking pictures on the bus :) haha..
well anyways, we got home around 12:15, right after shrek 2 ended, and i basically got off the bus, went home, and went to sleep. then i woke up around 8:30 this morning and had a really long orthodontist appt... i'm not getting my braces off on january 4 anymore 'cause they're trying to fix a couple more things... so it'll be a little bit longer... i shouldn't have broken that bracket last weekend lol. oh well, it's all good. after the appt, i went to mom's office, fell asleep on the couch in the back, then went home, took a shower, and went to school for 7th period. got a ride home from brittany (thanks again) :), got a ride back up to school from katy, and went to the soccer game against tate. we tied 3-3.
anyways, now i'm home, talkin online and lissenin to music, and umm that's about it for now! sorry for making anyone that read all this take up the time to read it, but i just had to write it all :) wow, i'm really tired hehe, i think i'm gonna go to bed...
