So I just totally burned my thumb while taking a third batch of cookies out of the oven. It's all ouchie and I want it to go awayyyyy. I also pulled something in my left wrist (same side as the thumb), which is potentially bad because I have to move that wrist a lot at work.
Blah.
But, cookies! I've been baking them to send in birthday boxes for a couple of special friends.
And guess what came today? I'll give you a hint: it's red, gorgeous, and I spent a small fortune on it.
Yep, my ipod. And it's so beautiful! But of course, me being me, there's a funny story to tag along with its arrival.
When I came home from work today, a small box was waiting on the bed. I opened it and gazed upon the loveliness that is my ipod. The moment I had it out of its packaging, I turned the device on and was dazzled by an actual screen (my old one was a shuffle, sad, I know). It asked me my language preference, and I ...
Managed to accidentally select what I can only assume was some form of Chinese. It was all in characters, and here's where we cue the freak out. Five minutes of panic-induced messing everything up and ten minutes of calmly going through each and every menu option later, I found the language control and selected English. Now, I have to go back and try to figure out what the heck I changed. Good luck to me!
So that's a fun story. I have so much to do between now and Friday morning! I've still got to pack, but I'm obviously going to do that tomorrow. I should be making a birthday card right now, but I'm typing this first. And eventually sleep should come. My mom is being nice enough to stay up and make more cookies because somehow I managed to double a recipe designed for 48 cookies and only come out with 48 cookies. And I needed 40 to send alone, not to mention the batch I promised my co-workers (as penance for using the office to ship my packages ;D).

I tell you, some days I am just hopeless!
