so, where do i begin?
well, we left for our out of state part of the tour on oct 30th. first we played gainesville, very cool show, only got to play 3 songs, but everyone enjoyed. total pay, 50$. also first night we met up with burden of a day. then, after staying with one of kevins friends we headed off to atlanta. that was a fucking undertaking let me tell you. the traffic in and around that place fucking sucks! when we finally made it to the house party, we were a little skeptical to say the least. the place was shady as hell, not in the "is this the ghetto kind of way", but in the "why is there only parents and little kids here?" we were in a neighborhood with million+ dollar homes. then we were told we were playing outside. one, i figured it would be shut down within 5 minutes of starting, and also i was cold as all living hell! but, after the other bands and people started showing up, it seemed like it was going to be okay. we played first (for obvious reasons--in case it got shut down) and low and behold, no cops ever came. everything went without a hitch. we didnt get paid, but the homeowners gave us food and beverages. then it was off to dayton, ohio. we figured we would drive straight through on our day off and get a hotel room that evening. wow, that was a long trip. when we finally made it to dayton and i opened my eyes, it was raining and freezing. it was miserable. we checked into a hotel and tryed to keep them from knowing we had 6 people in a 2 person room. after sleeping for a considerable amount of time, me, bryan, and mike went to see saw 2, while ryan and kevin got drunk at a bar, and matt stayed in the room talking to his girlfriend. it was a good movie by the way. when we all finally got back to the room, and everyone else started drinking, the first arguement/near fight happened. and i won, cause i put a bet on it being me and bryan, and it was. anyways, the next day we hung around the dayton mall after checkout until it was time to go to the venue. it was in an amazing part of historic dayton, very quaint and beautiful. we checked out the tat shops, record stores, got some pizza with burden (i had the weirdest pizza, a reuban..like a sandwhich, only a pizza. roast beef, swiss cheese, thousand island dressing, rye croutons, and sourkraut on pizza dough. it was actually quite amazing) the venue was weird, divided in two basically, and the stage was at a slant. we ended up playing second but the crowd really responded to us. it was pretty neat to have people who have never seen us take to it so well. everyone kept telling us "you guys were really.....loud". later in the evening we saw a sing in the sound booth that read "loud is the new suck", and hence a song title was born. we also played with an amazing band called zombies ate my neighbors. it was really good. one of their friends offered us a place to stay and food, so we took it. the only other offer was from some guy who seemed a bit to slow in the speech pattern to trust. plus, the girl he was with kept hitting on me, so we gladly excepted the other guys offer. total money, 60$. in the morning, we were awakened by our host, telling us he got called in to work and had to be there in 20 minutes or else he would be fired. so needless to say, we didnt shower. we did begin our rather short treck into PA though. that was a beautiful sight, seeing all the mountains. i will never forget what it looked like coming out of the tunnel beneath the mountain and driving directly into the hear of pittsburgh. it was amazing. but, the show that night was not. it was at a skate park, it was freezing, and two of the bands were very much in their pre-madonna phases. there was much argueing, almost some fisticuffs, and a lot of dirty looks, but in the end, i announced that it is in fact too cold, and too stupid to be that mad about time slots when at least you are playing a show. (not to mention the horrid metal band lived 2 miles away, which they wanted 30$ in gas money for....haha, yeah) total pay, 20$. but we did go to dennys afterwards with burden and had a splendid time. after that we had to leave our beloved tour mates for seperate shows in indiana. we went to jasper, im not sure where they went. when we got there, we thought, yet another sketchy show. its at a dilapidated vfw hall, put on by little kids. but, this show was amazing! little kids by the truckloads (by little i mean from 14-21) and by god they loved us! they actually had us signing shirts and cds. hell, mike took pictures with/for 4 little girls, who admittedly did not look 16. (we were also informed that the legal consent age in indiana was 16, ryan seemed to enjoy that fact) the show gave me chills and really made me for once feel like a genuine musician. we could have been everytime i die, playing to 200 kids, and no one would have thought different. it really makes me smile thinking about it. total pay, 80$, but 400$ in merch. also, i had a stomach ache all day. we stayed at one of the kids houses who set up the show, with probably about 10 other people, they cooked for us. i stayed in the van to get away from the drunks, they were being loud. i woke up with a sever pain in my abdomen. and the rest everyone else pretty much knows. we stopped in carmel, indiana, i had pancreatitis again, and i was alone. it sucked very much. i did have some pretty cool nurses though, kind of made it feel like home. i had surgery last sunday to remove my gall bladder. it hurt very much. i expected to wake up in a daze with a bunch of drugs in me. i woke up trying to get the mask off of my face, and writhinmg in terrible agaony. i didnt know they would be distending (blowing air into my abdomen until i looked like i was 6 months pregnant) my abdomen to conduct the surgery. just 3 tiny incisions they told me. ha! that shit hurt worse than the damn pancreatitis. but, it is removed, i flew back into TIA on wednesday, from 38 degree weather into 80 degree weather. it was nice though. jayme met me at the terminal, tears in her eyes, and i knew i was home. back with my baby, back in my bed. it feels good to be home. we have been talking about marriage as of late. we will see.

later.love.loud is the new suck
