(no subject)
No, I don't really write much anymore. I mainly use my LJ account for commenting and reading. But occasionally stuff happens. Now that it's all signed and sure I feel comfortable putting it here too.
In two weeks time I'm quitting my game store job and moving to Kouvola (about an hour away) to be a library clerk at a smaller branch library, doing the job I'm actually trained for and want to do for the foreseeable future. (I have a library paraprofessional's education, which is a two-year vocational qualification.) It's not a permanent position, yet, but at least until Christmas 2011, full-time. I'll be responsible for most of the school-aged kids/youth stuff, which is a bit hilarious, since I never wanted to be a children's librarian... but, see icon. I will endeavor to incorporate as much gaming, technology, Internet, and other "modern media" in this as possible.
So, yeah. The branch is Myllykoski, in case someone cares. Five or six staff, mostly female, I will be junior to all of them by 10-30 years. :p Next week I'm going shopping for a car, which I can now both justify and afford - I could probably do without, but it will make my life a lot easier. Moving in about three weeks, so I'm just going to do a longer commute for that first week. And yes, my sister is moving with me.
As for more immediate events, this weekend is Ropecon and I will be there the entire weekend. You can find me selling and checking tickets at the main doors very, very early both mornings. Before I can go to Con, sadly, I have a dentist's appointment - a filling decided to come loose last night. Here's hoping they don't decide to pull two teeth this time. >_< Seriously, if I ever have some 10k to spend from... winning the lottery or something, I'm going to look into getting permanent, implanted dentures. I hate my teeth, they're crooked and weak, and I'm sick of worrying about infections that can lead to endocarditis.
