30 Days Meme - Day Two
Day 02 → Your favorite movie
Simply put - I don't have one.
The longer version: I have seen plenty of movies. I have really, really liked many of them. But there isn't a single one that really sticks out that I could truly name my favorite. My tastes are very cyclical, and no movie has (as of yet) survived on my mind for years. I'll watch a movie and like it. Sometimes I'll be enthralled by it for days, even a few weeks... and then it fades. I'm not a movie re-watcher, most movies I never see more than once.
That said, some movies that I have enjoyed immensely:
- Pirates of the Caribbean, all three of them. I had a period of obsession with these.
- Lord of the Rings. My childhood in moving pictures, how could I not love it? I have seen the third one four times and every time it makes me cry.
- Requiem For A Dream. Probably the most traumatizing movie I have seen that definitely left an impression.
- Alexander. I don't care what anyone says, I LIKED its portrayal of the Alexander/Hephaestion relationship.
- Most movies involving Johnny Depp or Heath Ledger that I have seen.
- Pan's Labyrinth.
- Interview With A Vampire. I loved the movie, I loved the book. I absolutely love Cruise's Lestat; it's not really the looks, it's the attitude he brought to it. So very Brat Prince!
