you've gotta love somebody to know
In their New York apartment, all the lights were out and everyone was asleep. Isaac in his bed with Chelsea, Taylor in the spare room with Natalie, and then there was her and Zac. Still awake. But this was of the norm.
As they snuggled into his velvet burgundy comforter she felt content hearing the sound of his shallow breathing next to her ear. Him still being out of breath from having raced her to his bedroom and catapulting himself on to the bed.
As his breathing slowed he nudged her. She could feel his grin; even in the darkness that swallowed them. She nudged him back and they both giggled.
“You so just farted.” He proclaimed, still laughing.
She seemed slightly surprised, “I did not!”
“Yes you did.” He continued teasingly, "I heard you." Trying to get a stronger reaction was all Zac Hanson ever did.
“Zac.” She said sternly.
He sighed, “Ah, you’re no fun.”
“Coz I’m tryna sleep, stupid.”
“But I’m bored.”
“Then go annoy Isaac.” She suggested, turning over on her side.
“But he’s even more boring.”
She released a breath, her voice softening in the quiet, “Sleep Zac, I’m tired.”
The room fell silent and cuddling in to him she sighed, prepared for sleep to take her over. He put his feet on hers.
“Zaaaac, your feet are cold.”
“Hence why I’m putting them on you.” He reasoned.
“But they’re cooooold.” She continued to whine, even though he found it more cute than annoying.
“Your point being?” He questioned, raising an eyebrow he knew she wouldn’t see.
She rolled over in his arms to face him. He grinned, looking down his nose at her.
They’re eyes met for a moment before she nudged his chin with her forehead, like a kitten wanting attention. They both smiled and he moved to place a kiss on her lips. She shied away from him and nuzzled in to the space between his neck and shoulder, breathing in the crisp sent of his cologne.
“Sittin’ on the dock of the bay, watchin’ the tide roll away,” He remembered a song he had heard on the radio this morning and sang softly, his Adam’s apple vibrating against her forehead. “Sittin’ on the dock of the bay, wastin’ tiiiime.”
Her eyelashes fluttered over his skin and he pulled her closer.
Silence filtered in once again and he felt her muscles relax.
“So, not even a blow job then?”
“ZAC!” She exclaimed as she tired to hit him, squirming in his arms.
“Shutting up.” He said, laughing slightly while kissing her forehead and drawing her back to her previous position.
I can't explain what she does to me
Said you've got to love somebody to know
I can't explain how she sets me free
You've got to love somebody to know
