wow has it really been 18 weeks?
So much has happened ... how can i possibly update for 18 weeks?
Well. In short, I'm a year older.. I'm still in Canberra doing my degree. At the moment I'm on an internship which is kinda like a trainee-ship. Its part of the degree and is 400 contact hours. Thats broken into 10 weeks of 40 hours a week.
The problem with this? its all UNPAID. Not only that - I have to pay $7750 for it! Sure I have just HECS'd it, but you know - that kinda does suck.
The problem with all this is that I still have to work to get money because of my mortgage, so I do my 8 hours at the unpaid job, then work at casual jobs (note the plural) to get cash to pay for my house.
SO ... I guess thats kinda why I haven't been around.. I'm very very busy!
Canberra isn't such a bad place to live for a while. Its nice and quiet, and its all very predictable etc.. I couldn't live here for good, or for more than a couple of years. Its getting cold here now - max of 10 today :/
I guess the biggest thing I'm going through at the moment is my transformation into a hospitality guru. I am actually learning the "art" of hospitality. I always thought that was such a wank. I had no respect for people who talked about this "art".. but now with a year to go in my degree, I'm learning there really is an art to this industry. Its amazing.. and I love it. I actually ENJOY being nice to people, and I find I can be nicer to more people, more often!
This industry is much better suited to me. I can feel it.
