Saturday afternoon, I was met with a 2.5 hour lesson in control and being in the moment. The shading hurt like hell, but the final results were just what I wanted and made all the pain worth it. There is so much meaning and thought behind such a simple and 'cute' image, it still takes my breath away when I look at it.
My tattoo artist was wonderful and made my first experience a comfortable and enjoyable one -- he's also working on Mark's next tattoo (appointment for next Tuesday). I suspect Daniel will be our go-to for further ink creations (I'm already planning other installations); he's immensely talented and has a deliciously dry sense of humor - A bonus when having to spend a few hours together over ink and needles.
Tattoo details: Kittens are courtesy of Kurt Halsey (www.kurthalsey.com). Artist is Daniel @ Body Design in Sterling, VA. The canvas is my right foot, which I have been told multiple times is one of the worst/painful places to get a tattoo. I was never one to do things the easy way.
