I'm in a bit of a rush, but I wanted to toss this out there:
The other day at inorionsweb's place we watched this film, Southland Tales. I'd been dying to see it, and now that I have I'm pretty in love with it. If you enjoyed Richard Kelly's previous effort, Donnie Darko, and love surreal political satires (say, Dr. Strangelove or Brazil-not that Kelly could compare to Kubrick), you might love Southland Tales as well. It's equally likely that you'll hate it, but let's hold hands and face that possibility bravely.
