I was once asked if I'd rather go without electricity or without running water. I wasn't really able to provide an answer because, being a florida resident, I've dealt with lack of power often, but I'd never been truely deprived of water without having made preparations beforehand. Well after this morning, I can say without a shadow of doubt that not having running water suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.
I woke up to discover that one of the roofers had hit a water pipe thus shutting off the water. I did not discover this until I had already flushed the toilet and used up all the remaining water in my pipes. Now I most desperately needed to take a shower. I remembered I had found an article on how to keep clean without running water. I pull it up to discover I was going to need seven cups of water and baking soda. I knew I didn't have the baking soda but I figured I could make do with the water in my brita. I open the fridge. . . the one time I don't refill the fucking thing. . . so I had about three cups. I sacrificed the rest of my body to wash my hair at the least. Lessons learned. . . always have a supply of spare water available, even if it isn't hurricane season. . . also heat up said water before dumping it on your scalp. oh my god that was quite possibly the most painful thing.
anyway, that's my little story. I'm going to go finish getting dressed and hope nothing else goes wrong. maybe I shouldn't ride my skateboard to school today
