Just so all of you are informed....
I received my first ticket yesterday.
"Disobey Traffic Control Device"
$101-Cascade District Court House
The Story:
I was headed to work (the GC), and I was taking my usual route. The road where I got pulled over is not well-known (Katie may know it since she lived on the Res.), it's the road where the Arts&Tech school is, behind Arbys and by the Wilco Logging Company. There is a stop sign there overlooking the "Slew" (sp?), the stop sign is used to let the trucks from the lumber mill go through. If anyone has ever driven this path, you would know that trucks rarely come through there and no one EVER makes a full and complete stop there-theres no point. The Mill was closed that day so I "paused" at the stop sign and went on my way...not knowing their was a sheriff hiding out.
When he pulled me over he was really nice, I thought he was just gonna let me get off with a warning. I knew what I had done, and I apologized. He told me he had been pulling people over all day here...well, It was a good spot! I couldnt find a recent copy of my insurance, so I thought he was gonna charge me with that, he said it was a $600 fine!
So, my question is basically what I should do?
What option should I check:
1. Pay it off in full
2. Mitigation Hearing
3. Contest the ticket
Honestly, Ive been pulled over before and I got out of it. On Senior skip-day I was heading down to Woodland Park Zoo my a motorcycle cop. I was going 72 mph and I had no license on me, and he let me go.
I was hoping I could work the Megan charm on this guy, but apparently it didnt work.
