The thunder rolls on through the clouds,
Noise penetrates the air,
As lightning strikes the window
I sit on the ledge, and stare.
Rain splashes on the rooftops
And the day grows black as night,
As clouds disturb the sunshine
The sky is blocked from sight.
I sit and watch the rainfall
Like tears declining from the sky,
And I find that on my own face
I have begun to cry.
The thunder threatening the heavens
Is only pounding in my head,
I feel my mind is weighted down
As though it’s filled with lead.
The lightening cracks that threaten peace
Are simply flashes in my mind,
Disturbing simple darkness
With fears, suspicions, binds.
As I look out of the window,
I see the storm does not exist;
The terror in my own mentality
Twisted my mind with tricks.
The only rainstorm in sight,
Is the one that blinds me from my view,
As a search the world over,
In an attempt to find the truth.
