(no subject)
it's eight thirty in the morning, it is so unbelieveably warm outside it's unreal! woke up just after seven to malloreigh in the kitchen making tofu scramble and coffee. we just sat on the porch drinking coffee and lemonade in the glorious sunshine!
this weekend is going to be killer.
sitting on the porch i saw this woman slowly jogging by on the sidewalk. she stopped to look at all the yellow poppies growing in ajax' [our neighbours] garden. she had this huge smile on her face just staring at them. she picked the head off one of them and just held it in her hand looking at it glimmer in the light. she pulled a small notebook out of her pocket and placed the poppy in it, pressing it down into the pages. she jogged on a bit and stopped again just marveling at the flowers. she continued as i yelled down "good morning!" i told her how i thought the flowers were beautiful as well. she didn't speak much english and made a gesture with her hands as to how big and beautiful the flowers were and told me how she loved the bright colour they were. i agreed and she carried on as we told each other to have a beautiful day!
today i need to make flat bread and head for a picnic with malloreigh at twelve thirty, then i'm going for a walk on the drive and then off to ubc to go trail riding with keri. this day could not get any better.
tomorrow i will be at wreck beach all day with malloreigh, britt, lindsay and whoever else will join us. then lindsay and i are going to wiggle at the biltmore and off to the chair factory for villians.
my days are joyous.
laryssa is coming home in just under two weeks. this summer is shaping up to be my favorite summer ever! i haven't felt so happy in a long while but honestly my life is better than it's been in a long time. i'm really happy.
i'm working on a drawing series around being connected/disconnected/collapsing. i will hopefully work on that some more this weekend as well. drawing one of the series is almost done and the sketches for the next two drawings are coming along as well.
