Anora perked up when she recognized Taylor's voice, taking his arm. "You better believe it," she said. "Hmm, it's on the fourth floor if I remember correctly," she pondered for a moment as he switched their arm positions. "Yep, definitely fourth. Lead the way I shall," she stepped forward and lead them towards the location of the room.
"It was pretty random, the way we found it.." she said, launching into a full detailed recap of the length of time Derek and herself had spent looking for an emptyish room. Just as she was finishing her tale of Derek's suggestion on her starting her own combative dance troupe (which she hadn't forgotten, by the way,) they approached a familiar statue of the confused looking imp, which Nora couldn't help but laugh at. "Oh man, yeah we're here," she said, pulling out her wand and tapping the statue, causing it to reveal the passage that lead to the room, she stepped into the corridor and followed the path into the room. She surveyed it with satisfaction. "It had definitely needed some serious redecorating, but I think that it's good to go now,"
Taylor only really paid attention to the last mention of a dance troupe, since the only thing that came to mind were costumes that were some mixture of a samurai AND a ninja. Like the way the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were dressed up in their second movie.... or maybe it was their third.
Taylor stepped in to the room lost in thought about turtles. Taylor looked around the room with his hands on his hips, "Hmmmmm... needs a lion rug," he pointed out before heading over towards the couch Derek and Anora had some how wrestled from the depths of Hogwarts. He pin-pointed the video system they had "borrowed" from the Muggle Studies room for the night and slung his bag off his shoulder. "Okay. Now we need popcorn. If you'll get that ready," he said and pulled out the Star Wars Trilogy he had also 'borrowed', "I'll set up the entertainment."
Anora grinned, "Point taken and noted," she said in regards to the need for a lion rug. She nodded at the expressed need for popcorn and let her bag land on the floor before pulling out the kernels she'd nicked from the kitchens. She stuck them in a bowl she'd brought up in her bag, and with the use of a quick Heating Charm she had mass amounts of popocron popcorn suddenly appearing at the bottom of the bowl.
Well, this was certainly a new experience. She tried suppressing her amusement at it all but she couldn't hide a grin at how simplistic yet entertaining this was. "Okay, so whilst this grand project--" she signaled towards the popcorn currently filling up the rather large bowl, "Can you tell me again what Star Wars is about" she didn't want to be completely lost, after all. And well yeah, she was curious.
Taylor was happy to oblige Anora's inquiry, "Well of course my dear," he said with a smug grin before returning to the couch as he was done with his task. "See there's this thing called the force. And it's basically this power within someone that lets them manipulate objects with their mind or make weaker minds do what they want. It's like being able to hypnotize someone. Anyway. The Jedi have this power in them but the Jedi were destroyed. Anyway, the first movie starts with the rebel alliance which is fighting against the oppressive Empire, the ones who got rid of the Jedis, because they're good and the Empire is bad. Anyway, Princess Leia is the princess of a prominent Rebel planet and she's on her way to tell her father about plans of a huge machine capable of destroying planets that the a General of the Empire, named Darth Vader, has been commandeering---"
He stopped and looked over at her, "Questions so far?"
Anora, was surprisingly following all of this. She finished with the popcorn, which she had charmed to pop with just the right amount of buttery goodness, and headed over to the couch.
"Okay, just for clarification. The Empire got rid of the Jedi, annnd Darth Vader is one of the bad guys?" she asked, landing on the couch next to Taylor and setting the bowl in between them.
"Yeah. Darth Vader is the opposite of what the Jedi stood for. The Jedi were all about purity. You know, they weren't aloud romantic relationships because emotions clouded judgment and stuff. Anyway Darth Vader is empowered by the Dark side of the force, which feeds off powerful emotions... like hate and stuff. Anyway, as I was saying, Vader was commandeering this huge machine named... you're going to like this, the Death Star. So Princess Leia found the plans that show the one weak point of the whole Star and she's trying to get them to her father, so that they can destroy it."
Taylor took a handful of popocron and shoved it in his mouth all at once, "Anyway..." he said through his mouthful, "we're actually watching the last bit of the whole story. There's movies that were made after these but they're basically the prequels. We're essentially watching the conclusion to the story," he swallowed. "Mmmmmm... popocron! Or popcorn... actually that slip was pretty cool. Let's call it popocron for the night." he grinned and threw his arm around Anora's shoulders. "Okay. These movies follow Luke Skywalker who's got this mysterious past and is found by the last Jedi in hiding who trains him to fight the Empire with the force... so he becomes the last Jedi."
"Wow," she breathed. "Sounds pretty intense..they weren't allowed emotions? How did that work?" She guessed now was a good time to shut up about it and just find out from the movie. However, shutting up was soon out of the question, as the thought of a machine called the 'Death Star' was pretty hilarious. "No way, that's what it's actually called? I think I'm going to like this movie," she said with a grin, relaxing into Taylor as his arm was now around her.
"Popocron? Sounds more like a lethal weapon than a tasty snack. I think we should carry the name on past tonight and sweep the nation with our superior vocabulary," she said, eyeing a piece thoughtfully and popping it in her mouth.
Taylor nodded at her predictable reaction to the name, "I told you it was awesome." He said with a grin before moving his wand towards the screen and having the classic Star Wars music blare from the speakers. "Oh man... best part," he said before pulling Anora in closer to him with his arm.
"This is already an awesome night," he said happily and kissed Anora on the forehead, "Okay, be ready for this, you'll have to read this," he said nodding towards the screen.
"I couldn't agree more," she said, snuggling up to Taylor before the opening crawl dominated the screen. She was curious as to what needed to be read for a cinematic adventure, but apparently it was common for an entire opening intro in crazy scrolly text to slide along to extremely dramatic music. She read carefully as the screen rolled by:
Episode IV
A NEW HOPE
It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.
During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.
Pursued by the Empire's sinister agents, Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy....
"Brilliant," she said, already enthralled. She could tell this was going to be much better than the dry black and white films she had only ever seen in some musty old theatre. Not that she didn't love film noirs, but this was definitely more exciting to her.
"And it just gets better," Taylor turned to look at Anora already in deep concentration as she watched. How did he know her so well? There was definitely something completely encompassing about Anora, and in moments like these, Taylor counted himself lucky to ever have found her. How did she not see his faults and then shun them? And she always had this power of making him feel like an excited little boy. None of the girls he had ever made out with did that for him.
He stroked her hair and turned his attention back to the movie, a big stupid grin on his face. It was unbelievable how simple this was and yet how satisfied he felt.
Anora was completely enraptured by the majesty of Star Wars. It had everything! She definitely couldn't help giggling at Darth Vader's crazily deep voice, or the fact that the insanely dramatic music seemed to play even louder every time he made his entrance to the scene.
It was also times like these that Anora really appreciated Muggle technology versus magic. She wondered if there was some sort of charm she could use to harness light that would contain it into a single beam. She didn't doubt there was a way, someday she'd figure it out and have a light sabre of her very own. Yes, indeed.
She felt Taylor's hand against her hair and felt herself much more aware of her surroundings as opposed to feeling like she was being transported through space on the Millennium Falcon. She exhaled happily at the contact, very much enjoying how nice it felt to curl up with him. She absent-mindedly took hold of is hand and started intertwining his fingers with hers as the daring rescue scenes raged on.
