The bar had been a factor getting here. Darin had tried pawning it off on Taylor when he mentioned he was visiting Hogsmeade for a weekend to talk to Derek. And yes, Taylor had agreed that he would stay back and manage the bar on his own until Darin returned. However, when he got thinking about what it would be like there... she would be there window shopping for yet another crazy hat to add to her collection... maybe searching Zonko's for something she didn't have. When he couldn't shake the thought of Anora, her face, eyes, lips, everything about her, he had to find a way. Which is why he threw the keys to Alfreda, the bartender who had been there for much longer than either of the twins, and followed his brother to Hogsmeade

Anora felt like she'd been hit by a freight train. Well, not physically, but..mentally? Was it possible to receive MENTAL and emotional impact? Oh, metaphors.
The main thing was..that out of all of the scenarios she'd played out in her head of what would happen or where they would be if she ever did see Taylor again? This was certainly the one she was least expecting. But huh, she probably should have thought about it, because it seemed logical enough..but wow SHUT UP BRAIN, he was here, this was not the time to analyze probabilities or scenarios because she didn't even do that on a regular basis.
She blinked a few times, making sure she wasn't trapped in some sort of psychotic hallucination. "....Taylor?" she managed to choke out, incredulously. "Wha..what are you doing here?" Oh yes, stereotypical responses. But seriously, when faced with the unexpected, the sort of response you would expect anyone to say was sort of the default action.
"Well I..." he started to say but he was finding it hard to concentrate when she was RIGHT THERE, and he hadn't seen her since the end of the last school year, "Darin left me all alone at the bar... and you know... I got lonely. So here I am! By the way don't tell Derek because he'd kill me," what was he doing asking for favours at a time like this? And acting all nonchalant when his heart was racing and he couldn't breathe properly. Buggering hell... was he going to come this far and ruin it because he can't kick his horrible habit of being a GIT?
OUT WITH IT ALREADY, "I... I came to see you actually..." and he let that hang there in the awkward silence that was developing. Brilliant.
Anora was standing there with the expression on her face that she was conversing with someone who had just returned from the dead. Cause really, she hadn't seen him in what..four months? She was going through about eight hundred different emotions right now..but to her own surprise the one that was the most prominent was RELIEF. What the hell? She hadn't even realized it, but she'd been worried about him. Worried about how he was making out in the real world, worried with what was going to happen to him
( ... )
Well... he had made it that way, right? He didn't want her to feel anything for him anymore. How could she deal with having a boyfriend who wasn't there for her? Everyday she would be at school studying to be an auror and he was tending a bar? How could that work? She would be moving on with her life and he... well he wasn't. He had thought he had done the right thing by cutting it off... but maybe it hadn't been so right? Maybe he should have talked. But he had to admit he was afraid of this talk before he could even have it

Somewhere, somewhere in her crazily addled brain which was no longer functioning, she had known that there was some sort of explanation for all of this. For why he'd left and harshly failed at making any sort of explanation for himself. But then again, her mind flashed back to that conversation she'd had with Derek when they'd both agreed that Taylor had always had..well, interesting ways of expressing himself
( ... )
"I-I guess didn't want to talk about it," he said with a shrug. He didn't know how else to explain it. He never really did well with explaining feelings and stuff like that. He didn't exactly have the slightest clue how to start until he thought about it and thought hard. It had taken him fourth months to understand this much about himself, and just about three to actually express it in words.
The truth was that he hadn't thought about Anora's feelings in this decision. He had been so self-involved and self-pitying that he couldn't see beyond that and maybe think she could understand why he needed to do what he had done. He did have an awful habit of making a decision with his feet first and his brain last. Because if it was a serious decision he was making, it was his second nature not to make it real until the last possible second

Anora was slightly taken aback, and slightly impressed. This was not the response she had been expecting from him. He'd changed, matured, that's for sure. She was just noticing it now. He looked grown up.
"But I'm not happy," she began, the corners of her eyes beginning to sting. It was just that she'd never said it outloud before, despite the fact she'd known it all along and had been putting up this facade that she was getting over things and working through not her issues. It hadn't been working and she'd known it but had been too proud to admit.
"Taylor..I don't care about all of that. I can live without the pranking and the fooling around. It doesn't matter to me as much as it used to.." the unspoken part there was that it didn't matter as much to her when he wasn't there being her partner-in-crime
( ... )
Taylor could feel himself falling apart when he saw tears in her eyes and heard her admit that she was unhappy. Wasn't he the cause of this? Why did he have to be so noble for once in his life? Why didn't he just say to hell with the bar, Anora needs me. But he couldn't say that, he was finding out that this move of his wasn't reduable. He couldn't turn the train around. It was if his heart was trying to be in two places at once and it was tearing his whole body in two

As soon as he wrapped his arms around her, Nora closed her eyes and buried her head in his shoulder. She felt like she was holding on to him for dear life. She never thought she'd need anybody this much, but evidently that was exactly what this was.
And when he told her that he still loved her she felt a spark of hope that somehow they could make this work. There HAD to be a way. Anora always had WAYS. She just needed to think of it.
She withdrew slightly so she could look at him properly, but kept her arms around him. "I never stopped loving you," she murmured softly.
Taylor could feel something give, seriously give when she said that. He pulled her back to him for some reassurance that he could still hold her. Everything in the past few months was racing through his head and he couldn't shake this uneasy feeling of an ending coming soon.
"What are we going to do?" he asked as his eyes unfocused and he imagined them somewhere else far away from all the shit going on. "Can I fix this?" he asked with a bit more doubt. He thought not, he figured things couldn't really be like they were before. It would always be a little painful for the both of them, only this time would it hurt to be together rather than be apart? "Should we try it again?" he asked with a little hope. He would allow himself a little shred of hope to get him through the moment he had to leave her.
Anora responded by stepping as close as she could without walking on his feet, and settling back into his chest. She exhaled, listening to him talk. "I don't know," she said. "But anything has to be better than what we've been doing."
They could make this work, they had to. "I know that things won't be the same as they were, but that's what happens. We can't stay the same when the world's changing as fast as it is. We wouldn't make it. One thing I do know, is that everything happens for a reason."
She thought for a moment, and there was no doubt in her mind that she wanted to give them another shot. "Please?" she said. "I mean, people survive the long-distance things all the time." There was no reason why they couldn't. She had to have hope, because without it she might break.
"Okay," Taylor said with a smile. It felt good to finally give in and make a decision that made him smile for once. "Let's try it. I trust you to know it could work," he said and then pulled her to his arm's length, "Now enough of this serious talk, I haven't exactly snogged you properly yet, now I have I?" Wasn't he just charming?
He leaned in and snogged her good, it was like one of those desperate passionate snogs that couples had when they weren't sure they'd see each other again. And Taylor was giving it his all.
Nora smiled, "Okay," she echoed. And she had full confidence in her abilities in making sure that it did. If there was one thing Anora was brilliant at, it was optimism.
She let out a small laugh when he started talking again, and was all too happy to reciprocate. She kissed him back, hard, and let her hands wander from where they were around his back to behind his head where they were lost in his hair and she was pulling him as close as she could. She hadn't realized how much she'd missed this until this very moment.
She did need him, Taylor could feel it now, and he needed her. He needed this. Even if he had to wait three months at a time for it, knowing it was there to be had was enough. He could feel warmth in his limbs despite the cold and he could smell her familiar scent so close to his nose. She was his again. There was nothing wrong with the world in this exact moment. He was going to do everything he could to not break her heart again and to keep them together.
He pulled away, wanting to see her face. Memorize it once again so that he could picture her everyday he wasn't with her. He placed both his hands on the side of her face and kissed her forehead. "I need to find my sister," he said with a sinking sensation in his stomach. Now that wasn't going to be a fun talk, but a little easier. She had to love him, he was her brother.
Yes, she needed him. And she would do everything in her power (which, in her opinion was a pretty significant amount) to see him every chance she got. They could very well be hovering ten feet off the ground, she was feeling so light.
She closed her eyes once more when he kissed her forehead, re-memorizing the feel of his lips on her skin. She nodded when he said he had to find Anya, and said "I can help you look for her. I'll leave you two alone when you do but in the meantime I'm not going anywhere," she smiled. She knew this was going to be hard for the both of them, especially now that she was closer with Anya and had been spending a lot of time with her. But they were family, they'd get through it. That's what families were there for.
