Dear Diary - December way back then.

Despite the mini squeegasm I appear to have missed two months of stuff.

And oh what stuff .... when it comes to reminiscing and I look back at December 2010 how am I supposed to remember I saw tons of amazing theatre STUFF??!!!

Well Railway Children at Waterloo station for niece Zoe's 8th birthday was not AMAZING - but blimey - a spectacle nonetheless.

Our Theatre 503 put on at least 4 shows for our viewing pleasure, the most wonderful of which, that did bring a tear to mine eye - was The Wind In The Willows.... with song and pigtails, friends and foes, joy and social commentary, face-paint and leg-warmers. Totally mind-blowing. The cast were a young visiting company and did a bit of a pre-show in the bar, the weasels coming out to paint black noses on the kids and sing woodland songs. Cute beyond squee.

Seasons Greetings at The National, we saw on Christmas Eve Eve. A jaw-droppingly stellar cast of monster proportion!! - My primary squee of choice was Mark Gatiss who appears to ooze talent everywhere he chooses to direct it - but Catherine Tate was uber-hilarious - stole the show. Thing is, despite the festivities - the play is not about Christmas - and it still plays until March. I would dearly love to go again - but one day I must acknowledge finances. One day.

Mustn't leave out - went over to The Drill Hall to see Diary of A Nobody - The Musical starring and co-written by John Finnemore. The show had a couple of memorable ditties and charm - but after ... bless Mr F. Why on earth do you make A BEELINE in a bar largely full of cast, family and friends - for the two strange muppets grinning at you like idiots (oh yeah - Mister J is quite the fan too ;) ) What a SWEETIE!! LOVE HIIIIIIIIIM!! He spoke with us for at least 10 minutes. We largely managed to steer ;) the conversation around to Cabin Pressure and he was talking about the madness of the last recording - all the Cumberbatch fans. Hee. A new experience for most of them - methinks they will be better prepared and mindful of the need for a larger venue! next time (which might be March? might be April? - fingers triple-crossed for tickets again).

Luckily got a few theatre tokens as Christmas Presents! But then David Tennant and Catherine Tate announced they are doing Much Ado About Nothing from May! .. and we used them up! ;) Have opening night. Cock-ups do your worst ;)!! x
