snow eh?

Jan 21, 2007 10:13

so this is about the first time it has snowed in Bloomington, IN this winter. we had a little dusting of snow sometime in the past couple of weeks, but it was gone by 10am, this is real snow now. id say 5in probably.

jesse had to work today at 5am at starbucks, he gets off in 45 min. i feel bad that he has to work so early, i mean he works all week at 8am every morning, and then he has to work sunday morning and get up at 4am. he says he dosent mind, plus we like getting the free coffee, i think we save about $100 a month just by him working there with all the coffee we'd drink.

in other news, jess' bday is comming up soon, and im making her (you) a present but i doubt it will get there by your b-day. plus i might need your mailing address at school. i dont think i have it.

otherwise, ive picked up a few more hours at the ed library, which is great because when im working there and no one is using me to ask questions (as they should be) i can do homework or read. so i actually do all of my reading for my classes and i get to do some fun reading as well. i really love this job, its really nice to help people find what they are looking for. people are so thankful and they get really excited when i find something they couldnt figure out that they need that day for something or other. the only thing is, people dont realize that it is my JOB to help them, they always think they are inconveniencing me. i'm getting paid to help them, i like helping them, and my day goes by a lot faster if they ask me questions. ask reference librarians questions, they like them, and they get paid a crazy amount of money for you to do so.

other than life in bloomington, my grandma just had surgery, she did fine and is a little weak right now. it just sucks for her because she was just getting better, just starting to walk again and able to do things on her own and then she has to go into surgery and start all over. and then when she gets better again she is going to have to go into surgery again for the cancer in her throat. the poor lady is 87, give her a break.
i have to say that after all of this, i hate american doctors, (i dont know what doctors in other countries are like) but these doctors have caused the government to spend so much excess money on my grandma, i mean thank god for things like medicare when doctors are going to charge you so much, but medicare isnt a reason to overcharge people to make more money. more people could get help if doctors didnt take needless measures just to charge medicare for it. there is no way we could afford these surgeries if it wasnt for the government paying for it. (perhaps why i think social democracy is the way to go)

oh well im going to stop ranting, and call my grandma, its about 930 where she is, im sure its ok to call her by now.
