The Impossible Astronaut

At last, a new episode! It feels like it's been forever forever!

-Correct me if I'm wrong, but did we just see Future!Eleven go running around history having crazy adventures before going back to visit his friends one last time and then dying? If so... LOLOLOLOL I guess he is not so different from Ten after all. I am assuming that time will be rewritten somehow so that he doesn't actually die, but the idea amuses me greatly.

-So... what made Amy and Rory opt for life on the slow path for two months? Were they planning on taking a break and then coming back, or staying home for good? Probably not the latter, given how easily they up and went to answer the summons, but I'm curious.

-"I'm being extremely clever up here and there's no one to stand around looking impressed. What's the point in having you all?" haha so true.

-LOL the Doctor ran into the invisible TARDIS. I can see why he doesn't use that feature very often.

-Not quite sure how I feel about the Silence. Interesting idea, but a bit too similar in execution to the Weeping Angels, since you can't turn your back or look away from them. Although it was kind of funny watching people forget their encounters... creepily funny. And the spaceship from the Lodger... does the ship belong to the Silence? I suppose we'll find out later...

-When the Doctor was talking about 1969 and it being the year of the moon and whatnot, all I could think was that Ten and Martha are chilling somewhere in England at the moment. I wonder if his timey-wimey detector went off... XD

-I loved the scene between River and Rory. Seriously, that is only the second time I have felt genuine sympathy for River, instead of being vaguely annoyed/amused by her. It sounds like the Doctor is going to be just as overly impressive and arrogant towards River when she's younger as she is to him early on, which makes sense in a twisted sort of way. But I like that she's vulnerable in this scene, admitting that she fears the day when the Doctor looks at her without recognition, although it is weird to think that for us, that day has already happened. Ha.

-Then again, River makes a joke about how loud she can scream being a spoiler and I just put my fingers in my ears and went "LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU" because Eleven does not have a sex life. Just no. Maybe she's talking about Twelve but I don't care, I'm not ready to go there.

-Amy's Big Secret is that... she's pregnant? Really? I am going to be upset if that is it because that is, like, the first thing that comes to most people's minds when a woman says she has a secret and it has been done to death in teen drama shows and whatnot.

-Maybe Amy shooting the astronaut/kid angered her, which leads her to take revenge on the Doctor in the future? Probably not, but it would be ironic.

For some reason there is no rich text option in my Post An Entry page so I have had to refresh my knowledge of LJ HTML code in order to do a cut... hopefully it works and I do not spoil anyone.

This next bit is not a spoiler, but apparently in a recent interview when asked about continuity from the previous series, Steven Moffat said, "There are references to Davies' characters-we just had a reference to Rose, in fact." Wait a minute... is he talking about the 1/4 second flash of her in The Lodger, or was that "One last day with your beloved" line from ACC deliberate and not a reference to River like some guessed? And can we expect anything more, about her or the other companions? I'm hoping the answer is yes.

river song, rory williams, rose tyler, alia's life, doctor who, amy pond
