Title: Selling Points
Characters: Ten Ten 2, Rose, Donna, Jackie

Genre: Humor
Summary: A ficlet for the doctor_rose_fix  ficathon, inspired by a prompt from 2nd2ndalto .

"I spent all that time trying to find you, I'm not going back now!" Rose couldn't believe it. After everything she'd gone through to get back, was the Doctor really planning on sending her away- again?

"But you've got to," he explained solemnly. "Because we saved the universe, but at a cost. And the cost is him." The Doctor nodded meaningfully at his duplicate. Rose glanced back at the new man doubtfully, taking in his cheeky grin, wild brown hair, and (admittedly gaudy) blue pinstriped suit. She did not understand what the Doctor was implying.

"I'm sorry... what?"

"He destroyed the Daleks, he committed genocide," the Time Lord reminded her. "He's too dangerous to be left on his own."

Rose felt her jaw drop. "Hold on... I destroyed the Daleks once, on the Gamestation! Am I too dangerous to be left on my own?" From behind her, Jackie muttered something about dimension canons and the walls of reality. Rose pretended not to hear. "And for that matter, I got stranded here in the first place after you decided it was a good idea to send the Daleks to 'hell'. How is what he did any different?"

The Doctor sputtered for a moment. "But... but he was born in battle, full of blood, and, and anger, and revenge!"

"Oh, and I suppose you were born in a field of daisies?" the human Doctor countered. "You made me; everything I am came from somewhere."

"Well, it wasn't from me!" Donna put in. She considered a moment. "Except maybe the blood part. I've got blood. So have you, come to think of it, those two hearts have got to serve some purpose."

"That's... that's not the point," the Doctor insisted desperately. "The point is, Rose would be better off with him..."

"Because he committed genocide," Rose said flatly.

"You have to admit, it's not the best sales pitch in the world," Donna told the Doctor. "I would have started with something a little more appealing than the 'mass murderer' angle."

"Come on! It's not like it's permanent or anything," said the human Doctor defensively. "You know the Daleks, some of them ALWAYS survive. They'll pop up again sooner or later."

"Oh, and that's a good thing, is it?" exclaimed the Time Lord, rounding on his double.

"Then you DO agree they had to be stopped!" the other man said triumphantly.

"Right, that's enough," Rose said firmly. "If anything, all this conversation has done is prove to me that you really are the same man. And that means you both can use all the help you can get. Mum?" She called, turning to face Jackie. "Sorry 'bout this, but it looks like I'm needed elsewhere. Your teleport should be programmed to take you directly back to Torchwood headquarters... Give Tony and Pete my love, will you?"

Jackie nodded, tearing up a little. "I will. You take care of yourself, sweetheart."

"Always. I love you." They hugged briefly, then parted. "See you the next time the universe almost ends, yeah?" With one last smile for her mother, Rose grabbed the hands of both Doctors and led them into the TARDIS. Donna followed, shaking her head.

"Blood and anger and revenge, plus a heavy helping of self-sacrifice and guilt, twice over. Never mind the Doctors, before long it's Rose who's going to be needing some help."
