I'm still trying to get used to the fact that we have a new episode every week now. :D
I love that Amy and Rory came to wave at themselves from afar. Because seriously, isn't that something time travellers would do for fun? Get a glimpse of the past? I wasn't expecting to see something like that, it was a cute surprise.
Amy didn't do much else this episode except get eaten by the earth, though. That was a bit of a disappointment, but the scene where she gets eaten was pretty good. She shows some compassion by trying to help someone else, and the part where the Doctor is telling her to hold on was nicely dramatic. "Tell Rory..." Aww. She didn't finish her sentence. (Speaking of which: "If you talk to Rose, just tell her..." XD)
Rory was great as usual. When he came out of the TARDIS and the mom said, "We've been expecting you," I thought they thought he was the Doctor (which would have been awesome) but I guess they were waiting for a policeman. Also, Rory manages to be yet another person to call the Doctor out on his screwdriver's inability to effect wood. "Don't diss the sonic!" LOL.
Elliot was cute too. I love that the Doctor encouraged him to do everything that he could to help, and said it didn't matter if he was dyslexic or not. We got a bit of Gallifrey angst in that conversation too, it's been awhile since that showed up. But I can't believe the Doctor just let him run off alone! He's always the one always saying, "Don't wander off!" When it turned out the Doctor was the last one to see him, I seriously thought the mom would smack him. She didn't, but I think she should have.
Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by this episode, it was better than I anticipated. Hopefully the conclusion will be just as good!
