Geez, what a good day so far and it's only 10 a.m.! (when i started writing this, rather.) It's so good in fact, that I can say this NOT having had my morning coffee bc we're out of cream. So that's really saying something. (the situation has been amended thank God.)
hpcon_envy is going so well! Soo pleased! I've only read a few posted fics and drabbles yet because I'm determined to get my prompts finished. What I have read though have all been darling and great fun. There are only 2 prompts left for me to finish, and I am hopeful. I will try to read a few more this afternoon.
Also, it's been great reading the buzz list and keeping up with the con goers, reviews at the comm have been generous, and!!! *trumpet* The special edition of
quiz_sshg is up. I got a message this morning alerting me to the fact that
I made it onto the Quiz! o_O Eeeee! I think it's my first time featured on the quiz, hence the title of this entry. Yay!
Some more win came from last night when I finally cooked with the herbs I've been growing this spring. o.m.g. *dies* wow. I will try to always cook with fresh herbs bc srsly what a difference!! I just used some oregano, lemon thyme and some rosemary, sauteed them in olive oil, and seared a few strips of chicken (then added rotini pasta and veggies tossed in more oil, garlic salt and teriyaki) but holyomg. so freaking tasty. leftovers today will be marvelous.
And at home, Phase I of construction ends today, which means that the application that my roommate put this week (!!) for a dog (golden retriever) will go forward and we'll probably have a dog within a few weeks! Yay!! Hopefully Sitten will be agreeable to this even though she has no choice in the matter. This leads me to my final news of the day, being:
Sitten and I are engaged in a war of wills. I'm tired of her increase in meow's and also her constant threats of urination (she's not sick, i'm sure of it. she's trying to piss me off bc I'm never home anymore). Last night, I found a tool. In a pique of childish frustration, I hiss/cat growled at her. (it was a very good imitation.) So good in fact, that she looked at me like, "holy shit you can do that too?!? :O " I chuckled. She was honestly thrown off by this new revelation. She immediately calmed, delicately walked up to me and sniffed me all over as if to say, "I have no idea who you are anymore. I must get reacquainted." She then sat by my side like a good little familiar for a nice 10 minutes or so. (that is rare.) Of course then she started up with the "i'm bored" meow's again. Naturally, I hissed at her. She got all fluffy-tail/hackle-y at me, but was also confused. Like, she knew she shouldn't be afraid of me and yet...I can hiss, so wtf? lol. She shut up again and was good.
I probably shouldn't abuse that bc I don't want her to feel threatened in the house (God knows what she'll do to it then. *eye roll*), but it's good to know I can still strike the fear of God in her wee little bitch-cat heart. ;)
Cat people: is this similar to establishing dominance around dogs?
Off to come up with a challenge to issue to the comm. Do participate!
