The British Academy Film and Television Awards have unveiled the final list of nominations for the 2012 BAFTA Television Awards, due to be presented on Sunday May 27 2012.Sherlock has gained three nominations in the acting categories:

BEST ACTOR
Benedict Cumberbatch

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Martin Freeman (really though?  supporting?)(at least they won't be pitted against each other this way.  for what that's worth. :/)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Andrew Scott

Congratulations to the three nominees.

Martin Freeman and Andrew Scott face off in the Best Supporting Actor category. This is Andrew's first BAFTA Nomination, whereas Martin scooped the Best Supporting Actor BAFTA last year at the 2011 awards.

Due to changes in the rules for the 2012 awards, the Best Drama award - which Sherlock won in 2011 - now requires a minimum of five new episodes in a series to be eligible. With three episodes, Sherlock was only eligible for the Mini-Series category, a suitably packed field, but sadly wasn't nominated.**

How can I choose between Flawfreeman and Queen Moriarty!  This is cruel.

**My hope: That each new series will be five episodes now in order to start being eligible again.  Pleeeeease?

ION - after years of (half-assed) searching for the version of Claire de Lune I love the most, iTunes has finally uploaded it and last night I was blissed out tyvm.  AND both Jack AND Rufus' new albums drop today.  What a day I tells ya, what a day.
