Just returned from the Military Tattoo, it ended at 10pm but it took I'm not kidding two hours to get home at that was by car, seriously Fox Studios parking sucks ass!
Despite the Concert Anxiety it quickly dissipated when I saw the Switzerland Top Secret Drum Corps, they are the best performers I've ever seen! It was so cool, the played each others drums, juggled their drum sticks and marched in all sorts of complicated ways. They kicked ass! And even had 18th Cent type Uniforms! Stockings and such...hee! hee!
Having seen them I wondered about the name, what was so Top Secret? Did they have a website or where they in the special services or what? As it turns out they do have a
website! It's in Swiss nevertheless I've book marked it anyway...maybe I can practice my decoding skills (I managed to figure out what a bio said on a website once even though it was all in Spanish...)
Here they are with their flags and drums, notice the nifty hats! Complete with feathers!
Here they are performing one of their routines drumming all the while and keeping in perfect step!
As it turns out they're not actually in the Army and in fact stared out as Circus Troop, but they've since grown in popularity and what not and are now famous enought to show up in the Military Tattoo, which has been going on for 55 years. Interestingly enough despite been based in Britian the Tattoo has never missed a performance! Cool. :O)
Well, having gone on about that, it's now half an hour later and I'm tired as so I'm off to bed...I need to get up at a reasonable hour anyway, I've been training myself for the return to Uni in a few weeks. Which reminds me, I must call the Uni regarding the newspapers, poke me if I haven't done it yet by noon tomorrow.
(Another point of interest: They were handing out newspapers after the show at the stadium, so I got a copy, took it out and saw that it was 'Tomorrow's Newspaper'! Heh :O)
