New Levels of Lameness Are Reached!

Mar 27, 2009 23:33

11:02pm: First of all, I thought I'd properly set my alarm on my mobile phone, but as it turns out...I didn't and I overslept until nearly 8:10am! A whole freaking hour! Thankfully I managed to haul ass fast enough to only be about 20 minutes late and the Boss didn't come in 'til later so at least I didn't get busted.

But damn it was such a busy day what with an important meeting on! I barely had time to breathe!

Second of all, how attached is too attached to your RP characters? 'Cause John was dealt some very bad news today, and it made me cry. This is perhaps the lamest thing I've had to own up too...but it is so. This has had a nasty side effect in giving me a headache, I hate crying!

Anyway Capt. John has gone and sought comfort with Capt. Joan, sometimes you can only rely on yourself, LOL!

FOUR ON FRIDAY

Q1 - Replacement: If you had to choose one item from your home to represent you in a photograph, what would you choose?

My laptop! The Green Machine is my electronic representative!

Q2 - Banking: Do you bank the old-fashioned way--inside your bank's local branch--or do you conduct your banking online or through an ATM machine? Related: Do you bank with a national banking institution (think: Wells Fargo, J.P. Morgan Chase, etc.) or a locally owned community bank?

Online in general, because banks have sucky hours and it's hard to get to one when you actually work for a living! Although I've only seen one or two ATMs that let you deposit stuff.
And I use Bankwest now, which is a national banking insitution I think...

Q3 - Global Warming: Historically, support for environmental protection in the United States has been relatively nonpartisan. Republicans pointed with pride to Theodore Roosevelt's crucial role in promoting the conservation of natural resources by establishing national parks and forests, and Democrats applauded Franklin Delano Roosevelt's efforts to include conservation as part of the "New Deal" via the Soil Conservation Service and related programs. Although a majority of Americans believe the seriousness of global warming is either correctly portrayed in the news or underestimated, a record-high 41%, according to new Gallup poll, now say it is exaggerated (and most of those who feel that way are Republicans). The 2009 Gallup Environment survey measured public concern about eight specific environmental issues. Not only does global warming rank last on the basis of the total percentage concerned either a great deal or a fair amount, but it is the only issue for which public concern dropped significantly in the past year (pollution of drinking water and toxic contamination of water and soil ranked highest). Do you believe global warming is a serious problem caused by humans, a natural occurrence, or a bunch of made up hooey?

Dude, if the temperature gets to high and melts the ice caps, we are FUCKED! Won't matter if the economy's busted or the water's polluted 'cause we'll be pretty dead.
And I'd tend to think it is, because we make a heap of carbon dixoide and pollution so...

Q4 - LEGOS: On this date in 1999, LEGOLAND California--the only LEGOLAND outside of Europe--opened in Carlsbad, California. If you could afford to commission (warning: pop-up window ahead) full-time LEGO artist Sean Kenney to make anything for you, what would you ask him to create?

Ooo! I know this guy! I bookmarked his site after seeing him on the news. I'd have him make a lego Capt John, because that would be freaking coool!

Friday Fill-In

1. "In a hole in the ground there lived a badger."

2. "I know Captain John isn't real but that ain't no matter."

3. "After dark the rain began to fall again, but not over the dam, much to everyone's annoyance!"

4. " Captain John liberated the treasure from the hold of the Spanish galleon."

5. "There was a hand in the darkness, and it scared the shit out of me!"

6. "Accidents ambush the unsuspecting, misadventure favours the unprepared!"

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleeping, my eyes are sore, tomorrow my plans include doing something to cheer up Capt. John and Sunday, I want to I dunno...maybe check out that new Yoga place that's opened up!

Friday5

Turning

1. To whom do you normally turn when you need to complain about something?

My mother! Which made this week a bit of a pain in the arse 'cause I really wanted to bitch about something, but she's in Hawaii so I can't!

2. Which annual season-turning do you enjoy the most?

Spring to Summer! Warmer weather's coming!

3. Where can you get a really good turnover?

Uuhhh, I can only think dodgy stuff in relation to this question, so I'm not gonna go there.

4. What’s employee turnover like where you work?

Pretty low, Terry from Berry's been there for 13 years! And my other co-worker for 7! I'm hoping not be the one who breaks the run!

5. One of the Wonder Twins could turn into any form of water, while the other could turn into any animal. Which of these powers would be more useful to you?

Hmmm...well, if I could change into a cheetah I could get my arse to work pretty quick! Although I wouldn't have my car with me...but hey I could carry lunch in my mouth so that'd work!

The (Other) Friday Five

1. Would you return to high school life for a week? Why or why not? (If you're currently in high school, would you redo your experiences so far?)

Sure! I really enjoyed High School (yeah I'm a neeeerd!) and wasn't life easier then? Without worrying about bills and money and shit?

2. Who were/are you in high school?

Me! Which means I wasn't in the popular group, LOL!

3. What was/is your favorite high school hangout? What did/do you do there?

It changed from year to year because our classrooms would be in different parts. In Year Twelve it was near the staircase up to the staff room. It was undercover and it wasn't as if teacher's kept popping up, so yeah, all good there.

4. What were/are your favorite three songs in high school?

Stuff by The Corrs!

5. What was the craziest thing you did in high school?

Uh...nothing... I was boring person. :OP

Yawn! Well despite the oversleeping I'm still rather tired...plus interesting stuff is sure to go down in the RPing tomorrow.

So I bid you all goodnight and if you want to pray for my mental health, this could be a good idea!
