I'm Still Here!
11:26pm: But it's NaNoWriMo so I've been working on my story and not leaving enough time to update my journal. I know, shocking. :OP
It's a bit of a shame actually because there was some amazing news this week - firstly the Bureau of Statistics released the results of the informal postal poll on Marriage Equality and it's was 61% in favour, yeaaaah! This means the Government has to get off their asses and change the Marriage Act. Although of course, there's a fair bit of pressure from the religious right not to rush into it, because...they're bloody annoying like that.
The other thing of interest...I discovered that Sydney Ferries conducted a poll of their own and one of the new ferries is to be called...drumroll please...Ferry McFeryface!
I know! Hilarious! Although apparently there's a lot of pushback against the idea...like people are being total party-poopers, there's even talk of a strike by union workers over it. I mean...wow...also where's everyone's sense of humour gone? I expected better of Aussies.
What I'm upset about is this article I saw in the paper while I was at my parents house on Thursday, it says they're going to stop making 747 in 2020! This is terrible! How can they stop making the Queen of the Skies?! That's some bullshit - apparently it isn't fuel efficient enough, they can fix that though? What are they going to replace it with? Bah humbug!
Anywho, I better wrap this up because not only am I working on my NaNo, but the Ice Skating GP event is happening in France right now and my favourite ladies skater is about to skate, she had a terrible short program yesterday, so here's hoping she can redeem herself now.
